Well said...and thank u for typing in the info..i guess the cons still there huh? i've rode the kasawaki zx model few years back and found out that the performance is good and compare to now...the performance i guess is still there however the cons too!! still but at a high price and when time to let go...hahha....its kinda a no value if to compare wit other brands of bikes.

herm...i guess got to look at the cons first like what u mentioned..hee...its damn heavy too!

well i guess got too look at other alternative for a sports touring bike...perhaps FJR...what say u??

Heh. No problem. FJR is equally good! Anyway CMYRS and Advrider can give you more insight comparison on GTR with Sports Bike and others. Because they ridden different bikes before getting the GTR.

yeah...but i'm kinda in love wit the GTR2010! its kinda beast bike for touring...haha

Hi nazzi

You've ridden the Kawa bikes before and you know that spares are a pain in the arse to buy. Especially the agaent's support. No cash no talk, worse they don't even have nets or credit card facilities. It's full cash term.

Go buy a BMW RT, FJR or STX for longer touring range. Also the GTR is not the best touring bike around. The tank is bloody small size of a super 4. How to call a touring bike when it's only 20L? It's heavy when fully loaded. For your information if you wanna pillion on this bike it's also an arse problem with the pillion. The panniers are mounted too high thus for the pillion to go up and down it's a problem itself. The pillion footpeg are mounted too high thus will cause knee pain for longer distances.

But if you do want sports bike performance on a touring bike this is the bike to get. Heat issue on the 2010 had been resolve by Kawasaki removing the sponge and wider air vent.

That's just my personal opinion.

Theres still the BMW K1300GT to think about. Same power as the GTR, more toys than the R1200RT!

Just a word of caution when you are getting corbin seats.

Stock seat is one piece. Corbin seats break into two pieces. One for rider and one for pillion. If you are just getting the seat for rider only and without the smuggler tank. It will not work. Anyway i am using corbin seats and own the smuggler tank too. Excellent investment if you have plans to keep the bike long. ^_^

In an nut shell, this is the following combi

1. Corbin rider seat (1 pc) plus smugglar tank

2. Corbin rider seat (1 pc) plus pillion seat (1 pc)

Yeah u r right!! this bike is pain in the arse..haven't ride that bike already pain...while riding more pain to ur crouches and balls!!

Initially when I got the bike, my wife agreed would go rides with me but after getting a car, she lost interest on the idea of touring & riding... (sigh)

Now, it's only me alone with my GTR so might only get the rider seat plus the smuggler tank... Can anyone help me on how can I get the seat & the tank?

So your bike becomes a permanent one seater ah? Because its quite troublesome to keep changing the one piece seat and smuggler. Of course its different if you stayed at landed property. Where the garage is just a stone throw away.

Hmmm...from avatar, your bike color and model same as mine. yours is 08 or 09 model? Ordering from Corbin can be a hassle. Back then i have to wake real early like 2-4am in the morning to call them and check on my item status. hahahah

Bro, hw much u letting go the seat?

mate, not decided yet, if the new owner doesnt want it, I'll be sure to let u know. not to worry, special prices for repeat customers. :)

OMG sounds like heaven there!

what were u riding there at tt time?

once i was also tinking of heading there too..

but i was 5 or 10 pts short of getting a visa..

P.S where is the JB kawa shop?

haha

it is much nicer to ride around in leathers w/o ever breaking a sweat

only took a fren's cbr400 for a spin once in a while which was the learner's bike most started out with, if not spent most of the time driving.

we'll talk abt PR nextime we meet up, its def a worthy option.

JB Kawa shop is @ N01.48604 E103.71254 (approx).

Does anybody has the co-ordinate of the JB shop. I may need to order some spares soon. If not I'll just order overseas.

JB Kawa shop is @ N01.48604 E103.71254 (approx)

It aint exactly cheap, but if u need it in a hurry, this is the place to contact.

Is yours the original gel seat?

I have a 2nd hand Sgt seat from a fellow GTR rider and a new corbin which I have not used.

CMYRS > I think speed limits in Australia is not something to try the luck with! Daily commuting is out of the question, as speed limits in urban areas are 50,60km/h.

Happily, theres a Frasers Hill equivalent right in my backyard. I'm excited as to what kinda weapon I'm gonna get!

Haha, let me know after u lived there a decade or so if u can still keep it under 110. :cheeky:

there is always wakefield, eastern creek to let loose on.

did u mentioned u were headed to SA?

get the GS or a jap adventure bike, doing a east to west via ayers rock will be an eye opener. :thumb:

well..basically not that sport type kinda performance though...wondering so called "touring" kinda performance..

cheers!

this bike eats mileage and long distance like nothing.

my return trip from phuket took a continous 29hrs with only petrol and bad weather stops. but after 1500km, arriving at GP, i was alot fresher than expected even without snooze.

this is my first jap bike after 3 euro brands and if i could do it all over again, I will still pick the GTR, it doesnt just do the job, but it does it well.

Most people go through life following the crowd.

Others think for themselves.

They go their own way.

Yup, mine is the 09 model but everything still stock... Wanna start doing it up... As for the Corbin seat, since I'm intending to use it for long, might as well get the one seater plus the smuggler... By the way, were u @ 2nd link petronas last Sat night?

Bro Ohayo, how did u order u Corbin set? Can help me out?

Original parts can try ordering at the Bukit Indah bikeshop which Aurium is asking ppl to go. I riding ZZR, bought my main stand from them. Got them in two weeks. No shipping charges or anythin. Jus the product price. Local agent told me to wait for 2 months. You can save alot in shipping from the US. My 1 cent worth. Got their number if you wan. PM me if interested.

If you're riding a bike but not calculating the 50 possibilities in the 50 meters of road ahead of you, then you're dangerous and shouldnt be on one.
