K-trac (kawasaki traction control) is an electronic feature connected to the bike wiring. I dont think there is an individually external battery hub for it.

Eh, i dont think there are many batteries in concours. No choice ma. If we want more product equipped bikes, all these batteries technology cannot be avoided at all. Sometimes its also good that they run on battery and not to connected to the bike wiring. At least it went kaput, only need to change one thing. No need to dismantle the bike to pieces just to take out the faulty units.

I dont know about 2010 onwards. 2008-2009 has

1. 2 x Electronic key fob for keyless ignition (1 current use, 1 spare key)

2. 2 x Tires sensor (front and back)

3. 1 x main battery

Hi ohayo, thanks for clearing my doubt. If im not mistaken 2010 model has the same stats as what u stated well with the exception of glove box relocation and k-act and k-tract controls..

So what does fellow biker Recko means when he mention the tyre sensor batt and k-tract batt already when kaput? So is it referring to the main battery?

Hi bro, based on my 3 weeks knowledge of my 08 model, I understand that the 2 tyre sensors which are sitting within the front and rear rim has a 3v tablet batt individually, and the other thing which I've mentioned that went kaput, actually I meant the transponder, not the kipass (or they're the same thing? :D ). So in totality, I've had 2 things that troubled me when I collected the bike, 1st is the transponder having low batt (changed already), 2nd is the tyre sensor batt. Nothing to do with the main batt... :D

I don't blame people who doesn't show courtesy, they just didn't get taught on how to do so.

er.......perhaps we should straighten up the terms or jargon used first. If not we going round and round the bushes liao

Features

Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) - Got external battery? or link to the bike wiring?

Kawasaki Coactive-braking Technology (K-ACT) - Got external battery? or link to the bike wiring?

Convenient Kawasaki Intelligent Proximity Activation Starting System (KIPASS) - Known as transponder to the general community.

Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor (TPMS) - Has one standalone battery each. Front and back tires

Convenient Kawasaki Intelligent Proximity Activation Starting System (KIPASS) - Known as transponder to the general community.

- Battery will last ~ 1 year (Mine Kaput after 1.5 years)

Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor (TPMS) - Has one standalone battery each. Front and back tires - Manual says will last ~ 5 years need to change the entire sensor below the tire valva. Cost about S$150 per piece 3 weeks waiting time pay cash upfront when you order from evershit..... (Be prepared to go through their nonsense by telling this part cannot dismantle one)

Suggest you guys download a copy of workshop manual........................ If you want I can pass you the PDF file.....

Engine oil plays a part as well.. I feel the difference when using Motul, Mobil One & Castrol EOs.. I personally felt that Castrol is a little "rough" & when changing gears, the clunk is louder.. I'm sticking to Mobil One for the mean time.. Engine is much smoother.. On the other hand, my second ride has been louder than my '14 thus when I get on my '14 it always feel smoother & softer.. Hehe..

I'm thinking of using Mobil One for my next eo change too, got the same feedback from my friend too but on a different bike... :)

Mobile one not bad. I can stretch it to almost 3000km oil change for X1R. Around 2000km was spent on North South Highway travelling. 90-100km/h for 120-130km.

aaahh...now that explains it. So indeed the bike has more than 1 batt besides the main one. 1st time i heard this. Learn something new everyday haha. Great bro!

Haha... I'm learning too, anyway now bike is at workshop for past 2 days due to the tyre sensor low batt issue. Left it there since Tues afternoon, yesterday I heard a new sensor was replaced and tyre was fixed back too. Then I understand they need to program the sensor today, but it seems nothing was done today due to their busy schedule... Suck thumb lor... :(

If only Kawa has better agent. Not saying that other agents are good, but this one DEFINITELY takes the cake..
