I intend to take class 2a and would like to find out a few thing.

 

1. How to sign up for the lesson (as i did mine class 2b in my home town)? Talk to the staff or sign up online?

 

2. Is there any slot for 6pm weekday?

 

3. How much does it cost to pass it assume i only repeat 3 excercise?

Actually ur question can be answered by those customer service personnel at the driving center.. Thats what they're paid for to do..

hey okb1999, let me try to help you answer your questions as I've recently got my class 2A license.

 

My example will be of BBDC, where i took my lessons.

 

1) Registration will be at BBDC office, office hours.

Mon - Fri : 0745 - 2145

Sat & Sun : 0745 - 1545

 

Things needed during registration:

-IC or Passport

-Valid Class 2B license(1 year already)

-1 Recent Photograph

-Foreigners would require work-permit/student pass

 

2) Yes, there is a 6pm slot for weekdays. It is Session 6.

 

3) Cost Structure of the course will be:

-Registration : $52.50

-1 Compulsory Theory Lesson : $10.50 (Before 6pm-Sessions 1-5)

-Off-Peak Practical Lessons : $25.20 per Session (After 6pm-Sessions 6 & 7)

-Peak Practical Lessons : $27.30 per session

-TP Test : $35.75

 

You can book for your TP test upon enrollment, but will have to complete your practical lessons 14 days before your TP test.

There will be 3 practical lessons you need to pass.

Assume that you took 5 sessions to clear your 3 lessons, and you take the peak slot of 6pm, and you took 2 revision lessons before your TP test, total of 7 sessions, 7 * 27.30 = $191.1

 

Adding in your registration fees and theory lessons and Tp test,

191.1 + 52.50 + 10.50 + 35.75 = 289.85

 

Roughly around $300 to take your class 2A license. By the way, the prices above does not include the increase of GST from 5%-7%. Means price shown above was still based on 5% GST.

You may wish to go back to the same DC which you took 2B.

I remember clearly that for ex-student who took 2B from SSDC, there's a cheaper registration price if you go back to them for 2A.

dont think he's a local. he mentioned hometown.

and yes, my friend did have a discount plus the DC sent him a letter telling him that he's able to enrol for his 2A. but for my case, DC nv send mi letter nor have discount. we are from the same DC BTW.
