Today I went with my friend to change the engine oil for his Suzuki Swift Sport. The engine oil is only inside the car for less than a week and he decided to change it for a better quality oil. He explained to me that the inferior motor oil was recommended by his friend as it was cheap but it turned out to be too viscous and caused a huge performance drop in response and power. He was quite pissed with his friend for recommending a no name brand oil and decided that get rid of the oil fast and used the ELF brand engine oil instead.

I was his "Navigator" for guiding him to his workshop as it's hidden in the maze of motor workshops in UBI, so I could hear the difference in the engine's performance as well as the response. After the engine oil change, the car felt more "Peppy" and super responsive. Then my good friend explained to me that the Car is like the human body and the Engine oil is like the Blood of the car where as the fuel is the Food for the car. When he used the inferior oil which was too thick, the car engine became sluggish, he even told me that using different brands of petrol can affect the performance of your vechicle. I was intrigued and he told me that there are only 2 petrol stations that he will patronize and they start with E and M (don't want to name them to avoid lawsuits :D). Even that guy who sold my friend the ELF engine oil say that these 2 petrol company's product is right at the top whereas the most popular brand in Singapore is at the bottom.

That brings to me my question, what is the best performing petrol and engine oil for my X8? I'm sure this question has been posted before, but is there anyone who has used a particular brand of Engine oil that consistently delivers? If money is not a concern here, what is the best performance engine oil for 4 stroke scooters these days?

Thanks for reading my rambling post!

Ordered my Gold X8, will be collecting next week yeah! Been eyeing the X8 since getting my Class 2B. It was a toss up between the SYM GTS200 and the Piaggio X8 for me but I finally decided to go with my heart and chose the X8.

Thanks to the valuable information in this thread, I'm able to make what I feel is a sensible decision.

Hi hi, Congratz and good choice for the color of champagne gold. Reason for being good choice is bcoz nowdays it always rain and expect more to come towards YE. To be honest i hardly wash my bike since the dirt doesnt seems to be tat obvious with this color or i might be selective looking snydrome too (even its dirty but i pretend i didnt notice it :p) Same goes with selective listening snydrome as well. Keke!

Anyway, i love this bike and its really comfortable riding it! My petrol is Capital V Power = 1st i choose this is bcoz its on the way back to my home after work - convenience counts 1st and secondly i always support this brand to the extent that its just so natural that i pump this! May be bcoz i was brought up from a place that there is no other petrol station except this brand! :p (believe it or not!)

Castrol engine oil - FTW.

hello... the first 3 service shld be done on 1000km 3000km and 5000km...

try not to exceed too much and have to call piaggio center for appointment for servicing which take at least 1 or 2 weeks...
