Buying a brand new bike from shop - LTA approval?

I bought a new bike from "X" motorshop. Paid deposit, insurance and balance of COE. Bike is in the shop.

It has been 2 weeks now (and still counting) and whenever i called the shop, they said the bike is not ready for collection. Still waiting for LTA approval.

 

What exactly is LTA approval? Everytime i asked the shop they keep saying the same thing and will update me again.

 

My guess is, registaring the bike, insurance application, number plate etc, but how long will that take? If the bike is not shipped in yet, i can understand but i do not understand. But now i see the bike physically in the shop.

 

Please can someone enlighten me. This is my first time buying a brand new bike. Thank you.

Nope. No number plate yet. Checked one motoring e-services, only can see my tcoe.

Just did it yesterday. Lta officer was surprised. Called the shop and asked what's the hold up and mentioned I already called lta. Shop changed tune. Earliest this week if not early next week to collect.
