Im riding a kr150 currently. However im experiencing trouble starting the bike after leaving it for sometime (about 6hours or more).

I have to kick like 20 times before it starts..

I pushed to bike tiam to find the problem, they tell me carb overflow. True enough when i off fuel tap when parking, i dun experience such thing. Thus i paid like $40+ to change a pin like thing in the carb. It really did solve the problem.

However recently, i began to experience the same thing over. and its been less than a month!! is it wrong diagnostic or the shop simply do carb servicing and con me?

In addition, my bike has a low side stand thus making the bike slant more than other bikes. Does this have anything to do with the overflow?

Sorry for my noob questions but i really wan to know the answers :giddy:

Hi. thanks for the tip. will keep it in mind.

However the carb overflow i was talking about was due to the cut off valve faulty. I just changed it but again the same problem surfaced. i want to solve this technicial issue as it is troublesome to always off the tap. whatmore i paid to fix it!!

I never trottle when starting not even abit as i know it will cause flooding.

I would like to find out if the cut off vavle is again faulty or any other possible reasons. i wan to fix the problem at its root

Open your bike fuel cap and see inside your fuel tank got rust bo.

if rusty, then you need to do something about its before its lead to major problem.

there a filter in the fuel switch. its a black colour plastic located just under the switch. the filter filtration is coarse.

1. Off your fuel switch

2. use a spanner to open its.

3. when putting the filter back, dont tighten to tight. hand tight + 1/2 or 3/4 turn will do

If you find rust in the fuel switch filter, 100% is that your fuel tank alr rust and better do something quick about its. .

can either DIY to etch away the rust using chemical following by sealant or check with your mech whether they know/ can do it. else change new fuel tank which will cost about $300 from LAB

Lastly, you can use a fuel line filter. using the finest filter with plastic housing.

Fuel line filter is just a temporary method because if the rust is like powder form, its hard trap its in the fuel line filter

Rusty Fuel tank for KRR is very common.

good luck

A second of precaution is an hour of safety. It never hurts to ask.

Maybe the float closing is affected by the tilt of the petrol in the carb body. Try to adjust yr side stand so yr bike is more upright ? also, better if shut off the fuel petcock overnight ... i think some bike manuals do recommend. Engine flood is the worst .. takes long to settle. smell for the petrol coming out the pipe... if can open sparkplug smell the petrol from the hole & look at the tip see if black/wet/oily. If confirmed engine flood, open throttle wide & kick with Engine siwtch "OFF", will help to blow out the petrol in the cylinder

for me if my SP is hard to start especially in the cold mornings..

But the way i use to solve this problem is by putting choke when i start n close it back after the engine started and use the throttle to "maintain" the rev at 1.1-1.2 rpm and let it warm up awhile..

I'll think that it's the problem with the engine when it's "cold".. so just warm up the engine abit and should just work out fine..

Just my 2c tat u can use as reference..

hmmm, my advice is to get Broquet at http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=152414&page=8 this link... keke... Cause It really improve my engine quite a lot... FC CONFIRM better... Smoke also reduce but... overall still depends on our riding patterns... Rev at the correct way... dun play too much... ^_^

Kindly read thru at least the intro section first before decide to post any comments.... thanks...

once you choke start, turn the choke off don't trottle for a few sec let the engine heat up itself before you start playing ur throttle to warm up, what i usually do last time during cold or after rain weather is.

Choke Start then once started, off my choke, let the engine run a few sec and leave it for 2-5mins for the engine to heat up before i move off to work.

hmmm, maybe can kick and rev and see? I used to have this problem but now it seems alright... remember to off your fuel when leaving your bike more den 1 hour.. that's what i do everyday.. Now it seems better then last time... Morning can start with 1 kick w/o rev...

why dun you learn how to do a push start? for a 2b bike, it's not that heavy and rather easy to push start.

sometimes, it could be the pin in the carb is off position...hard to say...hahaa...
