Yamaha FJ 09 or MT 09 Tracer

Im 1.7m and need to tip toe on the higher setting.

 

Bike is very light for its category, handle is very*2 wide & more upright sitting position then the naked version(but still have the somehow agressive stance posture).

 

Was quoted around $28k OTR by HLCycle(imagine if the COE is lets say, $1k? Thats gonna be only $23k OTR!)

 

Rumours: Soft side-cases come as standard(included), Race Blu edition will come in by next shipment(1-2 months) & current legal exhaust system: Akra.

For the hard case if need bigger capacity can get the FJR side case. Saw on UK side got people use FJR case on Tracer

While I'm patiently waiting for the silver/blue to arrive, could any of you guys advise me where I get the best trade-in deal? I have a 2003 TDM with fairly high mileage. Hong leong more or less said they weren't interested, read 4K, even with 7+ years coe left. I can see that both Unique and HL Cycles are advertising the Tracker.

Dont think HL got sell 2nd hand bikes so its gonna be a hassle for them to take in. You can try M1 Motoring, they have high trade in value from my experience but not too sure for a TDM900 though.

I went down to Looi's bike shop last week, he quote me 27-28k OTR with box.

Not sure it's the soft or hard pannier he mentioned but from what i see online(not in sg) they get a hard pannier together with the bike.

OTR is about $27 ~ $28 k

used a January COE, booked mine since then.

 

I thought I have to pay more like $27k, but now I am very comfortable with what I paid.

FJ09(US) MT09 Tracer(UK) is basically same just that in US they like to use different term compare to other country is like FZ09(US) and MT09(UK).

 

You can try ask Bike Production, they selling Tracer as well. Think most of the bike shop is start selling Tracer now.

US Spec FJ09 has powercut at about 115mpb = 185 km/h

 

Whereas Europe MT09 Tracer has powerabout at about 225 km/h.

I personally think MT 09 Tracer is the best for daily commuting and plus occasion tour. This is the bike i'm gonna get once i got my class 2 . in the meanwhile patiently taking my lesson now....

This was the bike that I was looking for when I was scouting for my sub-1000cc naked/touring bike. Too bad there was only the low powered NC and the ugly Versys.. I went for the latter.. Only to find that it doesn't have that much power anyway..
