Motorcycle Parts Stolen HOW?!?!

Hello all, I've just got my Triumph Daytona 2010 master cylinder and clutch holder stolen. The ignition was tampered but failed.

 

Actions performed by me:

Called police hotline @ 1800 255 0000

Police officers arrived in 30 minutes at the scene

Initial assessment performed on parts stolen / damaged

Forensic came to my bike to perform DNA swab and finger dusting and found prints and DNA

Case referred to Motor Vehicle Theft Division inspector for further investigations

Investigation officer came down and spoke to me asking for more information

 

Anything else that I should do?

Hoping to make this a informational thread from my experience.

i feel you bro, i had my rcs stolen too. It was barely 3 months old. T.T

I had my runner side wing fairing stolen too... same procedures by the police as what you mentioned but no news after months. Before that my spark front fender got stolen too and before that my R1 got stolen too... hahaha.....All within a time span of 10 yrs

Even screw also they will steal. Mine stolen plenty of times. Luckily nothing came off while riding. One of my side mirrors also. I guess some people are just pathetic to even steal cheap parts. Got my rag stolen before too. Talk about cheap. :cool:

Well, the police did. Fortunately I purposely parked in front of a cctv.

 

The thief was a Vietnamese and got sentenced to 6 months (The police sent me a letter).

 

But it doesnt matter to me cus i still didnt get my stuff back. :(

That means that's a dumb thief man. Why steal something when he's recorded "live".

 

@ticks I think these some thieves are opportunists.

they steal because of a moment of greed.

 

it's the scheming thieves that we have to be beware of.

they monitor, plan and execute these crimes.

hard to get caught as they are always prepared.

can start civil case against the guy to claim back your loss right?

I've been trying to contact the inspector for the past week but he's always not in the office....

 

So I've sent him another email and the update from him is that he will try to check and review the CCTV footage.

 

However, there's no CCTV installed in the estate (confirmed with HDB and Town Council). So he's checking on the entry and exit barriers CCTV? :S
