company annouced that there will be a 5% pay cut globally... executives cut 10% - 15%and CEO 20%...

 

considering first quarter net revenue up 1%, or 4% in local currency, from a year earlier to $28.8 billion...

 

I dun really know about finance, but i guess the company is still making a heck lots of $$$ still... but why still pay cut?!

do away with ours as we dun have much committments while retaining theirs since they need to keep up with the "AMC", zillion # of cars instalment and mistresses petty cash account...so Uncle, cant blame them...mgt cant be wrong...

well, not really true... cos i always tell my staff... 'if there is something you thing is not correct, do let me know, cos i am not always right.'

 

in the bid to make your statement politically correct, "The Senior Management Can't Be Wrong!" would sound good... kekekeke...

my speculation: the pay cut is going to make the P&L looks good, and at the end of year, more dividend can be given to the shareholders... which at the end of the day, translate to keeping the CEO's ricebowl and maybe bonus for the executives...

 

i guess to the shareholders, they do not care if it is good times of bad times.. if their dividend is good, the CEO is doing his/her job... if the dividend is bad, it is time to get a new CEO... kekeke...

 

cos the saying goes, good companies performs; in both good times and bad times...

but if all my years of working experience tells me, to crap is also an art...

 

the senior management can just tell you 'okay, times are bad, all pay cut...' instead of take the time to think of politically correct ways of telling you why there should be a pay cut... and along the line, throw in some figures to confuse you...

 

that's the art... and that's why the get paid so much to crap their way out...

 

like i said in the earlier portion, if the company is not doing well, there is only one person to blame... that is the CEO... he cannot just say that 'oh, times are bad... so this year, shareholder gets less...'

 

then if i am the shareholder, i will fire the CEO and tell him, 'we pay you so much and what are you doing about the situation?!'

 

do you know that my company have stated very clearly that senior management is only suppose to spend 20% or less of their time to work... the rest of the 80% and more is to provide leadership...

 

so the higher you go... the more you really have to BS...
