The real problem with a heavy bike is that if you touch the brake too much or accelerate a bit too much while in a slow tight turn is that you will increase the lean angle too much. At 340 kg you do not have to be leaned over too far before the bike weighs too much to hold up and boom, down you go.

I've seen this quite a bit in parking lots... guy making a hard right turn, touchs brake, bike dips and falls right, cannot save the fall due to the weight.

i gotta think twice if you can handle the bike in the case it drops like this, can one handle it? :giddy: you need a strong/stronger eagle :cheeky:

Yes. I agree that U-turns differentiates a good rider from a noobie-wannabe.

Anyone can open throttle and speed like theres no tommorrow. But how many can actually slow down and drop gear from high speed to execute a beautiful U-turn?

Its a matter how how well you understand that capabilities of your bike.

you said it best man ;) ahaha dude most would slow down long before the u-turn..cuz when you mention drop gear from high speed and do the u-turn sounds like in track

Gear 1 when from stop.

Gear 2 while moving.

Never maintain half clutch during the turn.

release clutch completely and regulate speed with rear brake. Open throttle slightly more to prevent engine stalling. Just release rear brake completely to exit the turn gracefully;p

EYE POINT!

... remember the steps during the school's figure 8...

hmm bro.. clutch control does play a important part if you wanna do a tight u-turn.. from lane 1 to lane 3 road.

Oops, I meant "higher" speed u-turns.. where u check ur blindcheck, filter into the u-turn lane, slow down to 15-20km/h, check for traffic and execute a smooth u-turn. I wasn't refering to a "whack-bike-forks-depressed-kupcorner-scrap-footrest" oh no, plz no!

I agree with the eyepoint thing. It actually helps. Look far and bank abit more. If got speed wouldnt fall that easily unless you go and shift you body weight anyhow.

I feel that just do a few more times sure won't scared.

Just remember how you do the u turn to when u taking TP.

My advice to everyone in this thread who says they're not confident in their u-turns, go practice! Tonight. Find a quiet stretch of road with some u-turns. Go up and down, work on it.

The roads are dangerous enough as it is. You need all your attention to survive. Machine-control should not be an issue for you, there are more important things to worry about (like those crazy drivers around).

Those who risk nothing, do nothing, achieve nothing, become nothing.

Agree with his point of crazy drivers to worry about. Esp taxi drivers.

ARCADEEEEEEEE.....................INITIAL D...

or if your using cherry-chery(china one that it) car..

needed to maitain straight course in case hit by crosswind or

...hit by high beam head lights....hahaha

anyway can always put you right leg down to maintain center of gravity and let your underfoor scrap the rooad will maintain a small amount of pressure (danger can cause serious wear and tear on shoes not meant for it)

another is to do a super hard fromyour front brake only and clutch in...shift your foward weight right and your behind(your legs too) weight to the left...will cause the bike tail to go airborne to at least 45 degress..then when you land your already completed a 90 degree stationary turn...after that right turn oh...no more u turn..down worry if you fall..hapens to me once in a while..dont forget to wear protection...

Push bike down.

Lean out to the other side.

Clutch & throttle control.

U can make a very narrow & sharp u-turn.

Saw my ex-specialist performing it before. ONE LANE U-TURN.

Crazy but true. Shd have taken the video of it. Muahah.

still remember i pass that lesson on 2nd try. Try to keep ur speed even lower when doing u-turn, otherwise u will definately do wide turning. Or is it u afraid the bike will wobble if u go too slow?

maybe can learn from japanese tp :cheeky:

i can feel that man and bike becomes as one in the video
