no one talks about the negative part?

i guess one will only realise the negative part when he/she do a major e-brake...

and S4 shocks are already so soft... good luck when you actually have to perform an hard e-brake...

if u find ur fork is soft go and service the fork and ask for a "heavier" fork fluid some thing like semi syn to fully syn like engine oil

Not advisable to drop too much. Riding geometry will be altered and the bike will be deemed as off its stability. The geometry has been engineered to give an all-round stability. Try to stay off dropping the fork too much.

A drop of about 5mm is enough to let you feel the difference in your cornering stability and high speed stability. CB400 is a road bike and not a sports inclined bike.

that only solve the basic problem...

by nature the S4 folk are 'softer' compare to alot of class 2 bikes. the real way for solving it is just to change to better suspensions...

i believe those who rode S4 above 160kph will know what i mean by soft...

exactly... the fact that S4 are not design to handle cornering like sports bike...

my advise is that if you lower too much, then you do an hard e-brake, the folk will dip so much that it becomes a danger...

if u ride a r1 at 210km/h to manuver the bike is easy braking is easy.... IF U RIDE A SUPER 4 AT 200KM.H U ARE JUST BASICALLY HANGING ONTO THE BIKE !!! NOT LETTING THE BIKE GO OUT OF HAND.... Please Remember Super 4 is a road bike not some sports bike... want sports bike get a cbr4 not a super4 .... corner also how low can u go ??!! u can neva beat a cbr4 cornering stability... road bike not a sport bike

s4 forks is softer than sports no doubt becos it is a street bike. the main concern is comfort on street. it can adsorb more shock without the rider feeling much from it. ebraking might cause the forks to bottom. at corners cant compare with sports becos of the forks and handle bar position.

in sg, sound fast look fast is enough. run fast fine fast die fast.

best advice is not to drop the fork travel. reasons being:

1. full travel of the fork is not able to be used.

2. stability of the bike when cornering.

3. e-braking might cause the fork to bottom out.

and correction, the bike's suspension is working out the most when in a corner, and not on the straight. on the straight, most of the weight is on the rear, thus most of the forces will be acting on the rear suspension.

however, when you brake, forces of inertia will go to the front and cause the fork to dip.

with regards to the fork oil weight, it will depend much on the rider. if the rebound is too fast, a heavier weight oil will do the job. however, if the fork is too soft, adding heavier weight oil will not solve the problem. the only solution is to change the fork springs to a heavier weight spring.

Stock is good...Choose your weapon wisely and enjoy it...you can have all the $$$$ to mod and in the end you can't make full use of it....
