Taxi drivers got good, got bad. Bad attitude comes from any bad drivers actually... not only taxi drivers. Since we are on 2 wheels, just have to practise defensive riding.

i believe all pple have difference view to dis matter or to e taxi driver. i oso agree da there r good taxi driver in Sg, but if u happen to meet on those good taxi driver, u muz b super lucky, cuz is vv RARE in Sg. i personally oso dun really like to c taxi river on rd, they can jam brake anytime anywhere once they c a passenger waving hand on them, i noe is a "money" for them. i have oso encounter plenty of time endanger by Taxi driver. vv pissed off at 1st, like u guys say, show them ur Magic finger. i believe das e oly way we can so call "revenge" for their reckless driving. i do da most of e time, not oly to taxi driver, but to other driver too hu drive a family car. perhaps they r too confortable driving inside e car, das y nv really care or alert on rd, but dis is not a gd excuse for them to do so.

at times i was wondering, y TP or ROV stop most bikes dan car?? issit bcuz they r more strick to rider or they think da motorcylist course more accident? seriously, i can say da,(mayb i was wrong) car course more accident dan bike. is not bcuz i m a rider too. but dass my pt of view.

 

as for e taxi mention above, i dun think e company wil do anything,mayb jz have a words with him.

as for me... i would not show my magic finger to the driver... i would just go by his side and bang on his rooftop or door... but make sure u dun leave any dents lah... hee! =)

Eg: signalling... jus becos they signal means they have the right of way?! signal means can jus change lane irregardless of the traffic... wtf?! those who never signal are even worst!!! jus cut into ppl's lanes...

 

they are so many more situations which show how f**ked up a lot of drivers are nowadays...

maybe traffic police should look into this...

summon ppl for basic driving errors...

cos it seems like drivers nowadays are forgetting there basics of driving...

So basically, there are many bad drivers but sometimes it's not they are bad in driving but more bcoz of juz wanting the easy way out, don't give a damn of other road users or just plain lazy.

 

Adding to the signaling thingy, there are those who change lanes 1st then when they realize that they had actually cut into ur lane quite abruptly, then they signal... Wtf? I mean, why even bother doing that when it'll be useless when things got out of hand.

 

I've known a friend who's driving sucks pretty bad. He once made a car who's got the right of way to break and horn him coz my ''good'' friend wanted to change lane. I asked him to be careful and guess what he replied? Well this is what he said,"I already signal what?". I just want to give a smack right across his head but didn't coz he's old. And I know he'll never admit no matter what.

 

Then, there are those who's got the right & left thing in their brain that is switched. Damn, they go left signaling right and vice versa.

 

And then there are those who's got the hazard lights replacing the signal lights just bcoz they forgot to switch the damn thing off.

 

Last but not the least, there are these bozos who signal from ECP Bedok to Clementi exit. Well, I must say that they really planned stuff too damn early.

 

Anyway, what can we do but watch all these thing happening and just sigh....

Happens to me also.. i riding a cbr150 then, taxi want to be aggressive shows who's boss wat!!! I think seeing small bike in lane 1 makes their blood boil

I do admit that there are some good taxi drivers out there...But too bad most of it i've met are those really bad ones. Had a few close encounters with them. One even tried to knock my friend down ! End up have to call the cops to settle the problem. Most of them are only 'brave' inside their iron cage,they won't dare to come out to settle the problem. But it's also a good point coz if they do,i will mostly whack the Sh*t outta them and get my license revoke. Mostly I juz point the finger at them,if they have their windows open juz shout some vulgarities to them. Every now and then i am sure most riders will see reckless taxi drivers. Hope the law can really do something to them before i do something wrong.

i kena magic finger from a taxi before travelling in lane 1 at 10-20kmh above road speed limit.. after tat he overtook me and sped off...i mean like..wats the rush..i live to ride and ride to live..not to die.. haha

magic finger will only anger the other party.

 

the best way imo is let him overtake if he wants to. he will then feel good abt himself being able to shrug off a small pest. then irritate him by overtaking him, riding slow (not to road hogging extent) then play2 with your brake light. it works everytime. then when he overtake u again and stare at you, you stare at him back like you're driving a 14-wheeler and he's just riding a bicycle.

 

sorry la but at least i never do anything vulgar or cause road hazard but at the same thing u get what im trying to say that is dont be irritating on the road can? hah

what if he runs u over like a cockroach? there are many taxi drivers charged with road rage before, won't be surprised to encounter a few myself.

It's more about the user than the machine bah...

 

I too have my taste of sharing the road with very ill-disciplined road users, from taxis demanding to "eat" into my lane when i was riding beside them, honda civics to bmws cutting right infront of me not caring if their rear bumper will hit against my front wheel, all the way to kangoo drivers tail gating me when the other lanes are free of traffic...

 

Everyone will adapt to their own right of way and depending on individuals, some will end up being very impatient and reckless road users in the making.... Out in the road, everyone's rushing for time during rush hour, but why don't ppl plan more time for traveling instead ?

 

I used to squeeze through vehicles during rush hour and the time for travel for me is always spot on, what would be a 20mins relaxing ride i will squeeze it to 15mins or less, and i reach my work place on the dot at 8am. If there is a slight traffic jam or if i got caught in 2 traffic lights or more, i'll be late... It's a really bad habit if u ask me, limiting the time for traveling to the minimum...

 

Try giving urself more time for travel, i always give myself at least 30mins more traveling time... Try it, and u'll feel that everything will fall into a different perspective... TIll then, ride safe !!!

Ok, here's one to show how weird some taxi drivers cud be, especially this one in particular. But i wasn't riding though. I was in a hurry and seeing that my bus doesn't look like showing up, I went away from the bus stop and saw a cab approaching on the other side of the road. I flagged anyway and he took me after cutting 4 lanes. Once inside, i kena f**ked left, right, center for flagging him and making him cut double white line. He even asked me who will pay the penalty if he kena caught. Bloody hell, i screw him upside-down and told him who ask him to stop for me if he already knew that he will be committing an offence. He drove for a while slowly still emphasizing that I shud have seen the double-white line and move ahead. After at a trafic red light in front, I opened the door and walked off.....(can hear him still swearing) He lucky i nvr report.......
