jus went for servicing a burnt a hole in my pocket! change belt and done the throttle and headlight switch. and add on a polini speed control! now bike is faster and save petrol (from what i think)

Speed control from polini is just like the malossi multivar with a diff design.

They are race part and race part don't save fuel.

 

But they do give you better performance.

 

U might need a secondary gear set from polini or malossi if you find your top speed is not enough. Add a after market secondary gear can give u 5~10% increase in top speed.

but i thinks it really save petrol lehz. normally i around 1 and half days must pump liaoz now 2days liao still slightly half lehz. distance travel is the same too.

btw can u all share how u care for ur bike? wat things should i add to save petrol? need some tips. wat 2t u all using? my previous owner says onli can use ESSO GOLD 2T lehz super ex.

Chances is after the servicing, U got new belts, air filter cleaned. This will result in better efficiency.

 

My apologies for stereotyping.

 

But seems like u are opening your throttle at a normal rate(if you don't full throttle and chiong all the time), that could explain the fuel economy.

Well, the trick to 2T rating is simple.

 

JASO FC rating is the highest.And Castrol active have jaso FC rating.

 

Personally I try that. If you not racer type of riding. It's enough.

 

Even carrefour's total 2t semi syn at 4.50 can used also.

 

All that I've mentioned, I've tried without any problem. provided u are riding the ah pek/girl girl style.

 

But if you racer type, u better get better 2T.

 

By the way, when u change belt, did u change the mini 2T pump belt?

 

It's a very cheap item that cost lest than $10.

 

This is very important cost if the mini belt snap, the 2t pump will not work and it will just take a few minutes and your piston will jam due to 2T starvation.

 

The Piaggio typhoon have one of the lowest maintenance. It will literally bored you to death. Just make sure enough 2T.

 

Every 12K, change belts (both main and drive pump), roller clips, gear oil and airfilter.

 

Every year change front brake fluid.

 

Check tires and change them. This is very important. IF you are still using the original knobby tire. U better change them to better road tires like Metzeler.

i just change the belt and he wash the interior for mi onli. never change the mini belt for 2T. he still ask whether i wan to change engine oil anot. wats tat? necessary? so wat petrol u guys using? i use esso and spc. i find tat spc more smooth den esso. correct? or shell better?

This is very subjective. My first vxr like V power. My typhoon won't be happy unless it's esso/mobile.

 

My current g-max is just happy with anything I throw it.

 

Anyway, just pump whatever brand that u ae happy with.

There's no engine oil on this guy. It's a piaggio 2 stroke.

 

There's only approx 90ml of gear oil at the rear wheel gear box. This one change every 12,000km. it cost $6 only

 

As long u have enough 2 T. it will just go on and on.

 

As for the belt, 12,000km.

 

Exhaust? hiazzzzz. seem like all piaggio exhaust will start rusting in just 6 months.

 

U can get bike shop to do it for you for a small fee. When doing major servicing like change belts, rollers clips, gear oil. U can assk then to take out exhaust, sand and spray black. but unless u use super good quality heat resistance ait, it will turn white/sand colour in just 3 months.

questions again. when u twist the key to unlock the bike and another twist b4 u start the bike, does the batt light lights up? if it lights up does it mean low batt or its normal one? my bike died on mi halfway while riding and cannot elec start. kick also cannot. kick very long liao still cannot. so wats the problem? now my bike is at my gf house rotting. advice plz!!!
