problem for my wave r. recently, when riding at about 10kmh or slower, there is sound tick tick comes from somewhere near the sprocket/sport rim area. sent for checking, sprocket,chain,bearing all are in good condition. as per mechanic it could be the sport rim was manufactured no perfect. But it was so when i bought it.

can any one encounter this before???

Check your tire, maybe there is something stick on it that makes the ticking sound.

lately i discover i also got the same problem as yours.

ur chain maybe, cause my chain loose also got that sound... sound like the fairing but i found out its the loose chain,

No need to change to sports rim. HKL is at Alexander village bukit merah. But currently they don't have front wheel size 80/90 for battlax, will only come around july according to the mech there.

Guys,

 

mine have the same problem... the sound comes from the right side from the engine to the exhaust.

 

Its the engine oil problem.

 

sperry1 --> when ur are riding 10km/h or slower you hear the sound, will you hear the sound when you come to a stop? (Mine is whenever I stop, during traffic light or after a journey. Even after I park my bike off engine liao still have. Until it cools down den no more. The only time got no 'tick tick tick' sound is during cold start).

 

Should be engine oil problem cos when bike warms up, the sound is there.

 

P.S. My 'tick tick tick' sound problem appears after my first engine oil change. (My wave is just few months old, first time collected from bike shop, no 'tick tick tick' sound problem.)

i'm not sure for wave, but i did encounter such tick tick sound on my x-1 b4.

cause: i change to e chain-guard to those fancyful type.

metal-type where u can bend them.

& whenever i ride, it will move here & there, rubbing against e sups casuing e sound.

Shorty... i when to aqua lane in JB to change to the 3 spokes rims without the Tyre... it cost RG 175... quite cheap... i tink...

i have that tick tick sound too.. blardy irritating + embrassing when other riders turn their heads to look.

 

went to 3 different bike shops.. none could solve the problem. cause whenever the bike's at the shop, it wont make the sound.

 

so, one day.. i made sure the sound's there.. and loud before i visited the nearest bike shop.

 

finally, they told me that there's something wrong with my rear sport rim. the only way to solve is to change to a better one. as it is, the previous rims are free so the quality isnt good.

 

changed the rims and there's no more sound! yay!

last time also i kena those tick tick sound durin my spokey rims.. so go to bike shop and say that the hub is spoilt so i change to sport rim.. now no problems..

 

currently i heard alot of this type of problems from rear rim.. my fren also kena but he using sports rims .. so if like that im not ssure..

my is 80/80 well u can get it from ah boy for cheap lor safe anot i dunno but if u wan can get it at 219 they also do install but price wise u have to check with them.

Yes i hav personally use the IRC GOLD WINGS. I simply lurve it. I use the tyre till the last time i accident the car hit me. Think back it's kind of wasted cannot use the tyre till finish cause of the accident.

 

Can feel the grip even though it's raining. One word to describe it wonderful.
