Which full face helmet to buy??

Hi all

 

Need some advices on which full face helmet to buy. I've got a budget of $150 to $200.

But apparently this sum can't buy an AGV Arai or the 'branded' helmets..

Anyone can possibly suggest where can I get a decent helmet? Went to ah boy and some shops around there.. The prices seems to be quite steep.. Went online to source.. But not sure that those helmets are PSB approved or not. I heard that insurance doesn't cover non PSB approved helmets.. Saw see brands like NHK.. Relatively cheap.. But don't know approved or not.. I guess HJC and Airoh might fit into my budget.. I don't mind a second helmet if anyone will to offer (9/10 8/10 condition).

2nd hand agv are around 150-200. Arai shoei May have 300

did see some second hand ones.. But no suitable ones.. Think I'm a size M.. Anyone went to helmetboys (woodlands) or the one at grandlink ( sell NHK helmets)..??

Hi S102, it is generally not advisable to buy second hand helmets unless u know the seller personally. This is because the helmet may have been damaged in a crash or careless drop and may appear ok on the outside. However, the styrofoam padding inside may be deformed or damaged.

 

I would also not buy online unless i have tried a similar helmet in a shop. Full face helmets are ALL about a comfortable fit. U have to try it to know if it fits. A poor fitting helmet will cause discomfort and worse, distract you when riding. When i was a P - plater, i was fortunate to have biker friends bring me around to try some 30 helmets from 4 shops to get the right fit.

 

Try to shop around for a helmet within your budget but do not compromise on the comfort of the fit. You are better off saving up for a more expensive Shoei or Arai that offers better head protection if none of the cheaper helmets suit the shape of your head. Getting a poor fitting one means you'll sell it for a loss in no time.

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

Motorworld at Lavender St. Chong Aik at Desker Rd. Chiap Lee right beside Regina. All nearby. Advertiser's board should list their address.

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

Caberg flip up will fit ur budget.

May 2005 - July 2007: Honda Phantom TA200 (FU 3*** S)

July 2007 - Dec 2016: Honda CB400 Spec III (FBB 7***X)

Dec 2016 - Aug 2017: Yamaha FZ1N (FBD 4***E)

My 1st and current helmet agv k3. Got it at regina for 200. Very entry level full face. Comes in white/black/matt. Graphics cost another 50 iirc. HJC feels better but nt PSB approved. With sticker gets to 300.

 

Or try chong aik. Their FF will suit your budget.

I just bought a Shoei Full face helmet.

So sad that I got a super big head and only XXL can fit...

LAB told me only that SHOEI has XXL for my head...

HJC quite reasonable price. but your head shape must check out. it tends to fit more rounded head.
