Insurance renewal...help

Hey guys, need a little advice on this. For renewals of insurance for bikes still under hire purchase with a bike shop, are we allowed to choose our own preferred insurance company or its tied to the preference of the bike shop? Cos I was told by my bike shop that they do not accept some insurance companies and insist on renewing with their insurance instead.

 

A little background history...this is my first time buying a first hand bike under hire purchase. First year insurance under the said bike shop as they said I have to be insured under them. My insurance is ending in a month.

Doesn't really need to. But you won't want to piss your hirer off too right? if the price is about there... i would just go back to them...

 

But you need to remember if its a first hand bike under hire purchase, you need to get comprehensive insurance coverage. Cannot just get 3rd party fire and theft...
