if 15W50, mayb its too thick. thats y its not smooth. mayb thinner ones like extra 10W40 or ultra 5W50 shd do a better job.

Castrol R4 is = Castrol Power 1 Racing ? Both are fully synthetic, but R4 is 10w-50, power 1 is 10w-40. I heard frm LAB said castrol changing their name, it is true ?

i am refering to 10w50 fully synthetic oil. The 10w40 one is semi-syn if i am not wrong.

i heard from somewhere that the oil being super black is a good sign coz it goes to show that the oil has good cleaning properties.

BTW, i have tried before the 10w40 oil that you mentioned and i actually have none of your described bad experiences, in fact i felt that the 10w40 oil is pretty good.

Currently i have 'upgraded' to the fully synthetic version which is 10w50 so i wanted to ask those who had tried it before for some comment and review.

i'm currently using maxima ultra's 5w50. used to use maxima extra 10w40 and 15w50. the 10w40 has a nice light revvy feel while the 15w50 has a deeper warmer smooth feel.

so a few weeks ago i tried ultra 5w50. even though it is a 50, the mech says it is a thinner than normal 50s. in the end when i rode off from the shop, i seem to have a nice balance of warm, bassy smoothness of a thicker oil plus the light, revvy pull of a thin oil.. hahaha...

Im using the ows package... Still believe maxima & ngk iridium works best for my bike... OWS iridium plugs sort of slow response... afterall maybe its my feelings...

I really do miss GP500...

OWS is not so fantastic after 1500km for me. The up or down shifting is not smooth at all. Heard from my friend that Motul 7100 is very good. Any one here use 7100 before?

Is Motul 300V better than 7100? Or 7100 is better. Sometimes too much info on the net is confusing.... :cheeky:
