Apply again lor. First interview can try 3 times.

 

aiyah i was quite disappointed they rejected me also. TO me 1st time cannot means its like "not wat they want" ..try again also won;t make nuch diffrenence.....

 

also dun noe wat criteria they judge and wat they wanted ? well..maybe i jus did not make the cut ! well......... i fared well in the interview ( 7.5/10 )

Really? Why think of it in that way, if it is something you really want to do, I would advise you to try it again if your interest is still there. I know of a few people who only succeeded on the 3rd try (first interview) and are flying as FOs now.

 

That said, it is still up to the individual also =)

what sia try 1x nvr get then wanna give up.

 

give me la the next few times ur intvw. i apply first time nvr even get interview, rejected str8way.

Hi I would like to ask, if a Singaporean were to go Malaysia to get his AFI and work there as one, say clock a few hundred hours, return back here and applied to the SIA cadet scheme, would they accept you? Or do you have to fight with the Direct entry guys?

they still wont accept you like that... need to go thru interview still... well... maybe chances are higher than if you have no experience... so may give it a try... well you do have quite a bit of money to get your own CPL and Instructor's Rating eh...

I think if your eyesight not a goner, u r not an amputee, do not have any criminal record and fulfil all the basic requirements, you should definitely be able to get the interview.

i'll retry for it soon someday but the interview questions are pretty unnerving. and that's only the first round :S

 

well. i guess they are just trying to see whether you are confident enough... able to handle it anot.. good luck!!!

Yeah man...agree wif u cheesiong...heard some interviewees these days turn up in all sorts of attire, some of them even don stylo milo hair colours...do they actually know what kind of impressions they are projecting to the interviewers...

I want to get a CPL to secure my future in this industry, as I feel it is too a risky business to depend my whole passion for aviation on 1 SIA interview. Besides, if I gain my own experience, I have more options to work for other airlines. But most direct entry guys face the problems of type ratings, which is very costly. I might be flying props my whole life but at least I am flying! =)

do u know if upon selection and clearing medical, how long can they defer you until the next intake... say pending graduation or resignation notice period of those sort? like the longest grace they allow for you to settle these stuff before you start induction?

 

which i believe first off is the OBS thingie...

I see. Yeah A320 type rating is in demand now. Do you feel jobs are very limited for self-CPL holders? in let's say malaysia and our little red dot?

I am sure u will get there. You just have to work hard and save! And of course clock hours. Do you have any idea what needs to be done to keep ur CPL current?

Grace period wise, SIA is quite lenient. Some of my friends who are there did their 1st/2nd interview 2 to 3 years before they actually joined because they were still serving bonds in ARMY (as in navy, airforce inclusive and not necessarily restricted to pilots in airforce)

 

Then again, it also depends on whether SIA is in need of pilots or not. Right now, they have a surplus of FOs. :dot:
