I think you need to cool down. What's the rush? Hasty decisions are never good.

VidaK, you started riding on Valentines this year?

I advise you to get a bit more experience before changing handle bars. The handling will be significantly different.

Longer handlebars will have a very high tendency to wobble at slow speeds or when you are pillioning. You will also need extra extra care when lane splitting. It will also be more difficult to U-turn. Your throttle cables etc needs to be routed properly to ensure it still works as it should.

Shorter handlebars will have the above issues + heck of a lot more blind spots.

Its manageable, but I recommend you get more mileage under your belt before changing this.

(I'm speaking from experience as I've used wide beach bars on my phantom previously & my current ride has short drag bars)

my current handlebar wobbles very badly when I let go out my hands... I will take note of it... I know it would take me some time to get used to it, but I should be able to manage...

if the cables are too short, that means I will have to pay madman a visit...

Wide handlebars will wobble without you letting go (at low speeds or with pillion)

I had one of the widest handlebars on a Phantom previously. No cables were changed. It just needs to be routed properly outside the forks.

Sounds like you have a problem with your steering cone bearings OR your bike alignment.

i know ah chong once said my steering cone is spoilt... maybe I will ask him try the bike again... anyway, the bike drifts left...

well... I "married" my bike on valentines day, but I could only collect on 16th thanks to weekend cannot process insurance

Vidak, if chong said it is the steering cone then should be it. 2 years back I change it for $80. Like my PM to you. If you plan to upgrade in the near future, then dont spend too much on accessories. Never say you dont think of upgrading. I said the same thing but when a nice bike comes your way, then you will be itching to upgrade. Especially when you go out with others on bigger bikes, they zoom pass you. You will be very "Pek Chek". Can ask Snapel, think he also share this sentimental.
