From what i know, while working for a few bike shops a few months back, racing footrest is acceptable as long as you have a working brake light. I sent quite a number of bikes for inspection & not even 1 got stuck.

"Proud of them(The ROVs and TPs)"? Please, oh my god. I guess those are from the mouth of boring and squared-minded peoples who just prefered strict laws enforced on every minor single details. Singapore is having too much ridiculous rules and system which sometimes couldn't make sense at all. Do you realise that the government is able to distribute its money to all every individual and can make them a millionaire? Over the years, most prices goes up, erp are erected in more places etc. What else?

 

So couldnt just those ROV, TP or whatever practised some leniency on the road users? I mean fine those who drink and drive, speeding, beating the red light and so but please don't be too rigidly hard on stupid things like modification and creative work (As long as they have all those required things like signal light etc). Just look at the Americans, European, Australian, Japanese riders. Riding not only becomes their passion but a room for the expansion of their creativity realm. Unlike Singaporean who work hard and never play hard. They are all robots living in an electronic country with some ridiculous rules that u will never ever can crack upon.

 

One thing for sure, art and music will never become a part of an industry here and it is since art and music has got to do with creativity,admiration and expression where majority of Singaporean are dumb at. Think square, live square, converse square and drive or ride that boring squared and stocked vehicles. Its only a vehicle for transportation "squaredly" and solely and never be a form of expression.

well.. do you really need such "mods" for your daily ride or drive? whom are you trying to impress? loud pipes especially on the small bikes(no offense) but its really irritating esp when one drag past you.. the piercing sound.. argh. intolerable. if its allowed in the first place definately they will approve it. like what those big bikes have now. all i can say..dont like living in sg?? then move out!

We have a country full of stock standard cars/bikes, and they already don't drive and ride carefully... So you let them put on even more modifications, more powerful bikes and more powerful cars? The logic is beyond comparison

 

Simple fact is, if you do nothing wrong, there's nothing to worry about. Your vehicle is your responsibility, and there's always the legal methods to do your stuff. Apply for licenses for modifications and all. Now you can complain about how strict ******** TP and LTA are, but maybe you're alive today because they stopped and saman the same drivers who might've been the one to knock you down, or worse, knock down a loved one?

i appreciate about their strictness towards vehicle safety...

but i think da emphasis shud be on dangerous driving/riding...

sat nites, big groups of cars "racing" ard orchard road...

i'm sure evryone as a rider gets very nervous when these group of cars come zooming pass at high speeds... i myself fear they might hit me or something..
