Anyone bought HP TX1222AU Tablet PC?

Any idea if there's Win XP drivers for all the components in the above laptop?

Vista seems to be a crap OS, IMO.

 

XP seems to be more stable.

Got afew guys reformat and installed Win XP but ran into some prbs ...

I'm trying to test later on WinXp Tablet edition later on and see if it works...

For tablet, u need WinXP tablet edition. Coz Tablet PC works differently from tthe normal Win XP. Try requesting one from HP for WinXP OS. I guess they can give but dunno come with a price or not.

2007 model all come with Vista

any downgrading done will be at ur own risk

 

if u are computer illiterate, pls do not downgrade. i advice u to upgrade ur application

alot of users will have problem sourcing for winxp drivers for 2007 model

agreed, xp is not 100% compatible on the tx1222au.

 

basically, the following do not work:

1] the touch screen (unless u get some drivers in)

2] the quick launch button

 

the rest are ok .. but a bit buggy. so no choice, install back the vista ultimate and everything is back to normal and manage to avoid all the preinstalled junks. but the quick launch button still seemed does not work, even with the 6.1c (vista) drivers loaded. strange ...

 

overall, i rate this laptop as a good vista laptop .. until more xp drivers are available.

Any of u get wireless disconnection problems with this laptop?

I keep encountering wireless DC and then unable to find any wireless network in range when running P2P programs such as bitcomet,tvants,sopcast.

 

Can some of u having this laptop try and test if u encountered the same prob like mine?

sometimes, i get my wifi connection dropped...and get disconnected... and once, cant locate my own network...hahaa... darn... dunno it's vista or wat...

 

i feel, it's vista fault...

no DC problems during average of 4-6hrs online on xp. when it goes DC, did you reboot the router before connection can be restored? or does it recover on its own? meaning never touch router and never reset the laptop.

Nahhh...its not the router prb...other laptops are wrking fine on wireless when the DC happens....apart from the frequent wireless DC issue, there's this intermittent prb whereby the cursor will always be hovering at the bottom left corner of the creen, right at the START button and even when u bring the cursor to other parts of the screen, it will go back to that spot near the START button....hmmmm.....any of u experience this prb? Another friend of mine using the same model gets the same thing too....

U able to see your wireless SSID? If not, try changing the wireless channel....

A friend of mine had its wireless module missing all of a sudden. reinstalling drivers also don't work. Another friend of mine mentioned he came across a forum posting that this indicates a dying motherboard.

 

Warranty is drawing near since mine's a 1 year warranty and I'm thinking of extending the warranty. Any idea how to do that?

not about ur Tablet... but my HP/Compaq laptop wireless just gone dead...

 

no device found...

 

sent back to HP.. (luckily 10 days before warranty expires) and they have replaced new mother board. saying that mother board cant detect wireless module.

and HP service center guy advice me to update bios every 3-4 months.

Hi guys,

 

Had sent my tablet to HP Service Centre and they replaced the motherboard.

For the issue with the cursor kept getting stuck to the START button(bottom left corner of screen), they said it's the digitizer problem and need to order in new LCD panel.

 

The wireless have no DC issues after the motherboard replacement.
