Nina Prinz, the official Ducati rider, won the last race of the European Women’s Championship, earning her the title of European Champion in the Superstock 1000 Category.

Under the pouring rain, Nina had no rivals and kept a distance of 30 seconds ahead of her closest follower, Paola Cazzola, while Samuela De Nardi, who felt down in the previous race of Assen, took third. The fifth place was reached by Letizia Marchetti always from Ducati Y2K's Team. Prior to this race, Prinz also had the best time of the day for the qualifying sessions.

This is the first championship victory for the new bike from Borgo Panigale, the Ducati 1098S.

In the 600 Category, after an unlucky season, Romana Fede, on her 749R, managed to take the well-deserved absolute second place behind the unstoppable Iris Ten Katen who was at ease on one of the circuits that she best knows.

This is the third European title in two years for Ducati and a victory that proves the competitiveness of the 1098S.

With the European Championship over, the next races for the Ducati Women’s Team will be on September 9th in Vallelunga and October 10th in Misano for the last two races of the Italian Women’s Championship.

The Y2K Ducati Women’s Team will be represented once again by Nina Prinz and Letizia Marchetti in the Superstock 1000 class and Romana Fede in the Superstock 600 class.

Just had a brain wave.

If we could get these biker chics (wiht no disrespect to their riding abilities, and no jokes abt "riding") to do a race in SG I'm sure bike racing will become really popular here!

Might be the impetus for a proper track facility. hehe!

Someday, home will be where my front wheel points.

Blah blah blah blah....

Paola Cazzola was one of the Y2K Team when it was first formed up couple of yrs back. This Team even took part in a couple of FIM Endurance Race, but however, results were not fantastic, as the 999R was not even retrofitted with the Dual refueling tank caps. However, the women proved themselves capable of pushing the 999R round the whole track.

As the rule in FIM Endurance is, a down bike may only be repaired and race on if the racer was able to push the bike back into the pits if it is not ridable.

You could go check out dirt bike races... should have a couple of gals racing. Or the Orchard Dirt Prix, that one best...got superstars that cannot even ride, and definately also have gals.

Sideline, I dun understand how could we call it racing when we dump a few bikes to some celebrities and get them to ride in circles on a grass field. I rather these celebrities come and flag off Kallang Race, loyang dirt race or what.....to show the local racing some love.
