Riding without valid road tax

hi guys.. not sure this has been posted before or not..

 

but what is the penalty for riding without a valid road tax?

fine or what?

and if fine should be how much?

if u buy ntuc insurance look at section 5 of yr certificate

 

5. persons or classes of persons entitled to drive*

(a) the policy holder

Provided that the person driving is permitted in accordance with the licensing or other laws or regulations to drive the motor vehicle or has been so permitted and not disqualified by order of a court of law or by reason of any enactment or regulation in behalf from driving the motor vehicle.

 

1) In simple words it mean yr bike not road legal and u get caught or accident ,insurance will not cover u.

 

2) when insurance do not cover u when riding ,the court may sentence u to a max 12 months suspension(revoke in that case)and a fine imposed.

last time my frend caught without rd tax and insurance go court get fine $1k plus licence suspended for 1 yr

no insurance licence gone. no road tax BUT got insurance 200-400 fine.

no la.. expired road tax only summon $50 if kenna catch provided you got insurance.. but no insurance and riding laid up bike then up the lorry!

If u happen to read the letter from LTA with the road tax disc one, they have already stated the penalties at the side..

yeah but expired and laid up is different thing.. expired only $50 .

Its always good to renew your road tax and insurance together at the same time.

 

What you do is, once your one year insurance is due, purchase a new insurance that is pro rated to end at the same time as your road tax is due for renewal.

 

So when you next time need to renew insurance, you can renew your raod tax at the same time. I believe NTUC has that service at their counters that you can pay everything one short and dont have to remember too many dates.

lay up vehicle - no road tax but got valid insurance fine 200 dollars + road tax fee + misc fines up to 300-400++

 

expired road tax but got insurance - 50 dollars fine

 

no insurance in all cases UP LORRY charged in court sure DIE. fine depends on how many charges the LTA prosecutor wants to proceed with. LICENSE up lorry also.

Yes, its very important.

 

You can renew your road tax for 6 months. And then you can buy your insurance to cover till the due date to renew road tax.

ya that suay suay la. i'm just speaking from my experience. anyway if got rd tax but no bring still neg but of cos if never renew rd tax at all then really bb liao lo. Anyway there were even once the tp never even asked me for insurance but another time when he got me again( so freaking coincidence) he did asked for it. Maybe the first time he stop me, at that time he still a newbie lol
