V friends,

am awaiting delivery of a lowering kit from speedy with a flat foot too. has anyone fitted his kit n using a hugger (rear) at the same time ?. understand the hugger will need slight modification (new mounting holes) to fit the lowered versys. question is which make of hugger will minimize this inconvenience ?. anyone with experience or ideas ?

a small favour to ask. if one of you should be at looi's or any kawasaki importer, pls enquire for me how much will the low gel seat costs ex-spore. as mentioned earlier it costs over rm2000 here.

swoosh, the V35 mounting brackets still not in Givi showroom yet, although shipment has arrived. should know the price before the end of the week. hang on there a wee bit longer ....

myred,

I have the flatfoot on but not sure if got any complications with the hugger - i shouldn't think so. anyway just for extra measure you could take proper measurement for the flatfoot swingarm clearance and request for the L-bracket from Speedy. Oh and you could do with some Locktite(blue) when you fix up the flatfoot :cheers:

k66,

your comments noted. did you also install speedy's lowering kit ?. apparently lowering kit + hugger = mini problem. anyway will just fit the kit for now n lower the front forks too. yo, will remember to use loctite blue.

PD Bike Fest is on first saturday August. will be there (day trip) n maybe meet up with some of you .......

it's an Ermax screen from Motoworld.got it at $180 for the dark smoke color.

it really can't compare to the Givi screen just that i prefer function with form. the Givi one has great reviews but it looks fugly to me lah.

@swoosh

hmmm didn't take a closer look although it seems like he did change the cover

ah i see Ermax............

I will go check it out to see if they got anything for me :p tks!

KAWASAKI VERSYSâ„¢ WINS MOTORCYCLE OF THE YEAR

Four Kawasaki Models Take Home Motorcyclist Magazine Honors

Monterey, Calif. (July 19, 2008)---The esteemed editors at Motorcyclist magazine announced their Motorcycle of the Year (MOTY) selections at Laguna Seca and Kawasaki came away with the most-coveted award. Kawasaki’s recent string of new model introductions paid dividends on Saturday, when four of their latest offerings received awards in Motorcyclist’s 2008 MOTY issue.

The 2008 Versys™ --an amalgam of Versatile and System-- was chosen as the Motorcycle of the Year because of its real-world versatility. This category-busting machine was engineered to perform in a wide-variety of settings, from the daily commute, to cross-country adventures and even at the occasional track day. After sampling the unique charms of this motorcycle, the editors at Motorcyclist had to agree, writing: “The most impressive thing about the Versys is what it can do. That would be just about anything. The Versys has an irrational appeal to anyone who’s tired of coloring inside the same old lines.” In the end, the Versys’ charms were such that Motorcyclist’s final selection process took far less time than it has in prior years, ending with an easy-win for this unique Kawasaki motorcycle.

Not only did the Versys roll away with top honors, Kawasaki motorcycles also brought home three more MOTY awards for 2008. The Concours™ 14’s combination of comfort, power and handling and value earned it Motorcyclist’s “Best Touring Bike” award and the Ninja® 250R scored the “Best Bang for the Buck” honor, thanks to its modern styling, solid performance, overall efficiency and extremely low purchase price. Kawasaki backed-up the Ninja 250R’s Bang for the Buck win by earning the “Alternative Pick” award in that category with its KLR650 dual-purpose machine.
