welcome swoosh to the Versys fold! yet another ex-GSR convert like me:cheeky: personally i got nothing against the GSR just that I found out much later after all the speed thrills that I just miss the upright riding style and flickability of an enduro bike and the Versys is able to provide me with that albeit a bit more biased to normal road conditions than off-road.

yes some of my accessories arrived before the bike. Waited for 3mths. But it was worth the wait.

i agree. agt is happy with the numbers, i believe the majority of their sales are exports overseas.

the only other issue is spares. if u need something, i wonder how many months it will take them to order a part for u......all that time your bike is laid off....coe....insurance....roadtax all paid for but u cant use the bike cause your jap bike just happens to be at the mercy of an agt who does not seem to be in a hurry............that is a worry.

yes that was the very 1st concern for me and i believed for many local riders as well. Kawa actually produced ver gd rides. I took the plunge becos Loois is involved. The other reason is that Kawa and Versys in Malaysia has a strong following, so there are alternatives when it comes to spares.

no worries. can also serve non V riders !. tell me your plans. going to sunvay cycles ? many spore bikes are serviced there. ducati, agusta, gold wing, sports bikes n cruiser specialist. shop is also a dynojet/power commander dealer n approved tuning centre. let me know n will check if hoi will be there. it is hatyai bike week n who's who in biking will be up there this weekend. go enjoy .......

the most common feedback I get is that it gets very very hot in jams.

factory options/accessories for triumph n gtr1400 not available at the motorcycle shops. triumph is a rather rare bike on msian roads. these bikes in very small volumes are brought in by independent dealers who hve the Approved Permits. only kawasaki represented here by the manufacturer (and we get a 24 months or 20000 km warranty). best bet for kawasaki accessories will be at their showroom in glenmarie (closed sat/sun) but it too will hve very limited items on display. you will probably need to look thru their catalogue n then indent from japan. and will be more expensive too. penang is another place for accessories n a good holiday spot.

 

spore hve a far larger selection of motorcycle apparels n parts and at a better price too. givi is the only after market provider of accessories which i can think of that may offer a wider selection than the lion city. this is due to the fact that givi has a manufacturing plant here n their show room in jalan ipoh, Givi Point, carries nearly their complete range such as helmets, rain gear, wind shields, safety wear, boxes n brackets. but for certain models eg. versys, the w/shield n brackets are on back order n not all big bikes hve parts ex-stock.

 

sunvay cycle is more of a service/tuning centre for super bikes n big cruisers. not much accessories here.

 

infact some of us bikers here are thinking of riding down to spore at the end of july to change to metzelers, get helmets n riding gear. so if it's serious stuff you are looking for, your side still has the better deals .......

maybe its due to running-in... if the problem still persist, might change the exhuast to get rid of the cat

 

and if it still dun help, might consider selling it...
