and here is the tail for my KR fairing...

will probably not fix it yet till i do the whole bike...

kirkjay, any suggestions how to make my HVLP spray finer mist.. having problems with it.. droplets are too big.. last time, i had a fren who supplied paint for already mixed with reducer.. now have to mix myself.. been trying to get the proper mix for the fine mist.

for those with equipment such as airbrush or spray or small minicompressor, just bring your spray equipment plus your hose...

for those wanting to do something with their cowling or fairing...

please bring at least 30dollars depending on supplies used...

for the rest its a 10 bucks fee...hehe...or ciggy and vanilla coke...

this will be a impromptu workshop...means evrything will be planned depending of circumstances...

finger food will be prepared..

anyone wana share where u buy ur items? state the specific diy shop cos alot diy shops now adays and they dun haf those rubbing compound n stuffs.. btw is this what we need?

 

- sandpapers [grey one rite not the beige(for wood)]

- primer spray can [any specific brand to recommend? i using RJ]

- color spray can [any specific brand to recommend? i using RJ]

- rubbing compound

- automotive putty

 

is this the right way? i jus wana double confirm..

 

1) sand the old paintwork off, until even surface or until the paint becomes 1 color

2) use automotive putty to patch up any uneven surface or scratches/holes and let it dry

3) sand off and smoothen aft the putty

4) check for uneven surface and touch up

5) spray primer let it dry overnight

6) sand... sand.. sand..

7) spray the color

8) spray 2nd coat

9) spray 3rd coat

10) spray clear coat

 

?? is that the right step..

haha no worries...it's been a hectic week for me, i guess i got all the days and dates messed up.

 

anyway lucky thing i smsed kirkjay beforehand so didn't make any wasted trips. eh i wanna spray my fairings too man.... update me on the next 'coursedate' :cheeky:

e blue 1 was mine 1st sp tat i have spray.. tat was like 1year ago..

e black 1 was e recently 1... 2 to 3 months back... it a simple design... both e same desgin..
