I very much suggest u guys not ta go fer tha SXV 1st. As u guys noe, i'm tha 1st and only SXV in SIngapore now.( kere kan, i'm tha guinea pig la.. There's sum issues, ratha big ones wit April. I have been sendin' it bk a couple of times already. In fact, i'm gettin' it send back again today.

These issues can be rectified, but i believe it will tak sum tym.. PARTS- HEADACHE.

Easy ta get online, but it's mostly priced in pounds. Singapore Dollars - pounds = X 2.81. :faint:

A PC3 fer R6 cost u mayb abt 500SGD, a PC3 fer a SXV cost u 650SGD( FREIGHT NOT INCLUDED YET ).

It's crazy lor.. I'm now lookin' fer an exhaust sys, which is a MUST, because STOCK exhaust is too restrictive, it will cost a lot of probs.

Cheapest : GPR ( but only stainless steel which i am not very keen ) but we have a dealer here in Singapore.

Good reviews : SILMOTO & ARROW

SILMOTO : Full sys priced @ 1,395.00 pounds NOT includin' freight. NO Dealer here.

ARROW : Have Dealer in Singapore, but they do not bring in model fer SXV yet, if buy online, 800.00 pounds, NOT includin' freight. We even have to send our ECU ova fer a FREE mappin' and have them send it ta us togetha wit tha exhaust sys. OF COZ we havta pay all shippin' involved.

There u go, VERY 1ST review for SXV.

jus an update, i got myself d aprilia sxv5.5

its a 4 stroke, twin cylinder, titanium valved, wet sleeved, fuel injected, twin exhaused, 550cc supermotard. 1st on sg roads. kinda cool cos every bike shop i go to, sure got many interesting queries from otha bikers.. but within 3days, i had to get it towed back cos of lots of problems.. thankfully, d distributor was very helpful n fast in pleasin me.. problems i had was, left signal not working, bike couldnt idle, exhaust seems choked, fork leaked, seat burned, whole bike very hot, mapping "zao"... after they towed my bike in, (had to be towed cos i already converted it to be strictly offroad) my bike was "discharged" d next day feeling a lot, a lot better!!

I don't see why she can't do it. Maybe she'll do just fine? Anyway she only said she wants to try her bf's bike. No harm in that.

How tall exactly are you? I'm only 1.64, even had my suspensions stiffened and have no problems riding her.

Softening the forks and sus will affect the handling if you are doing any serious motard style riding but if we are talking abt leisurely road riding then it should be fine.

Shaving seat, sliding forks, adding spacers, shims, using lowering links are some ways to lower the bike but that cost some $$$.

Try getting used to sliding the butt to the edge of the seat when you stop. Resting only the back of the thigh on the seat. You can then have your foot almost flat on the ground this way. Keeping the bike perfectly balance with the front brake on, its not gonna feel heavy at all. Best of all, it dun cost a thing.

With offroad setup on my bike, the seat came to my waist level when I stand beside it. Sliding off the seat works for me. . . just need some getting use to.

wah..u sound angry.....i'm jus saying onli lah..dun take offence k..

i did say that i am short so its hard for me to ride any scram as this is my first motard..understandably coz b4 this all my bikes have been either sportsbike, road bikes and kups..so i'm just technically ADVISING about riding one as you've already gotten ur 2A.. and i know that you did say you're only trying your bf's african twin..hope you understand that i WASNT slamming you or anything..so i hope you dont take offence to what i said as its just a matter of conversation and since i thought it would help but i guess you took it in a different context..so if anything i apologise if i had mentioned anything wrong to you ok..:sorry:

honestly, i think you COULD ride one and i think you SHOULD get a drz to gain that experience...seriously..

riding a drz is fun...dun think wanna change anytime soon..trust me, u'll love it too!!..:thumb:

if diz bike will be ur only bike fer transport.. in my opinion.. no pt payin 12-14k to cramp urself to get frm one pt to another.. a transport shud be comfortable n reliable.. if u gonna track sumtime wif diz bike.. den itz werth it i shud say.. datz wat i told my gf b4 she decided to get a scrammie.. if u tink those cramps are worth it.. by all meanz.. juz my 2cents though.. =)

You Ain`t Ridin.. If It Ain`t Slidin..

bro, dun wori abt the daily transport..i still have my gilera for work n all tat..if i was still in ns, ther is no way i wud b gettin the drz man..now shud be ok since work is payin a hell of alot more than crappy ns pay..u noe lah army pay how..summore i ORD in 2002..so go figure how little my ns pay was back den..:faint:

dun say 12-14k bike, i ride rxk during ns oso struggling man...hahaha

but as far as goin tracking with my drz..hmmm..lets just take one step at a time first...just onli bought last week man!..still running in bah..hahaha....at least i wanna see how ppl do it first and learn the technical details abt the bike b4 jumpin into it...but so far, all i can say is tat i never regret a single thing abt buyin the drz man...even if it gives me cramps time n time again!..:sian:

plus i dun see a reason why anyone shud not enjoy the drz even if its not for tracking use...just MY 2cents worth..haha..:thumb:

DRZ400SM is the best bike I have ever owned in all my years of riding. So good that I have an 06 and an 07 model, both in black.

You can ride it for transport, you can race it on the track, you can crash it and the repairs are minor. I just dropped a CBR1000RR in the gravel before... cost of repairs to replace fairings was $2800.

Crashed the DRZ on the tracks 3 times so far... cost of repair.... one set of handguards.

Engine is super tough and reliable... I should know coz mine is ridden at max rpm most of the time on the track.
