Wah like this I wait one more year then maybe 15K :giddy: Don't know whether I can trust the Mah guy actually. He declined to give me any price list for the models and I then forced to ask "Roughly how much", then he say, about 20K, like that la

Can i trade my Honda for a Triumph at Mah?

Of course you can. Depending on whether your Honda has any resale value, and whether it is still on hire-purchase. I traded in my Yamaha 125Z to get my speed triple.

By the way, any idea why the Scrambler pipes are so high? Don't look like a pillion can sit there without real risk of getting their thigh burnt  Otherwise the bike looked pretty good to me too.

Just happen to drop by and saw ur question, anyway the reason for high mounted exhaust is to prevent water from going in during river crossing, as well as to accomodate the wide range of rear suspension movement. :thumb:

Bro, I just went to Mah's on Tuesday. I heard that the Tiger is coming in. Meanwhile, they have the Sprint ST on display. Beautiful bike, and the undertray triple exhaust is just plain sweet!

Selling for $29k OTR with original panniers. Too bad it looks too much like a BlackBird, otherwise it would have made for a very nice ride.

Most of us ride the Hinckleys because it is different from conventional Japanese makes and models.

If you're interested in the Speed Triple, there's a separate thread on it somewhere in the naked bikes subforum.

Do let us know when you get your Triumph.....

Hi guys, I got it! It's a beauty. Plenty torquey and easy to manoeuvre. Running it in now, still got a lot to learn about the bike. Thinking of getting the Haynes manual (is that the name?) for the thing. More later, when I have a better feel of the bike ... this rain sucks!

Congrats!

:cheer:

Why are people who ride motorcycles called bikers and people who ride bikes called cyclists?

Congrats cruise, I went o MAH last week to check out the W650/W400, I didn't see any W650 but 2 (1 red, 1 black) W400 at the second floor. I saw your bike there as well and the SE told me it's sold. Can't wait to see a new, shiny T100 on the road.

Sorry, rather pathetic of me! Stock bike, stock bike!

I'm gonna repaint the tank cos that two-tone red/black just ain't me ... ok I'll get a friend to take a pic after that :giddy: I'm still riding below 70kmh, 3000 rpm, will gradually increase ... the bike doesn't feel ready yet, or, um, perhaps I just need a full-face helmet! Only 200km on the thing.

Hello fellow riders,

Do you guys & gals know of anyone or bike shop selling 2nd hand Fazer 6?

Really appreciate any info or contact you can provide.

At the meantime, ride safe.

Cheers!

I'm back. The bike is broken in now, more or less. Almost 1,000 km on it. The bike really looks good (because simple!); no regrets buying it. Other things I like: the high-end torque, the seating position for both me and pillion, the plank seat!, how maneouvrable the bike is (better than my previous bike), the bike is actually quite light and I have to be careful at high speed not to drift into the side of a bus!

Things I don't like: can't hit 200!, the ignition key is not exactly in the most convenient position, the steering lock (urgh), I burn myself too easily on the engine parts! - burns all over my legs, geez, took time to get used to positioning my legs safely, the real wheel is hard to inflate - the valve is in an awkward position.

Someone nodded and gave me the thumbs up that day on the PIE, um, is that the Triumph experience?

Some random questions if anyone can help (I'll be getting the manual soon).

- How long should I warm up the bike in the morning? The throttle gets responsive quite quickly and I wonder about overheating the engine, so my standing warm up is about 3 minutes. My previous bike (also air-cooled) required no warm up at all - recommended procedure was to start the bike and "ride off as soon as possible". So I've formed this habit over the years. But I doubt if the same holds true of the Triumph. What do you guys do? Is 3 minutes too short? At least 5?

- Does the bike use a magneto for ignition? The mechanic causally mentioned "magneto" in passing that day. Magneto? For ignition? Is it a Triumph thing?

- Is that the regulator at the front of the bike in between the front forks, just above the wheel. My number plate is actually screwed on to it. I assume it's the regulator/rectifer cos it's finned, but I don't really know. What else would be finned?

- What is this thing I see on the TriumphRat forum about getting rid of the airbox and installing a better set of filters (air filters?) - is that sound procedure?

I have no desire to replace the exhausts cos I actually like the "sewing-machine" sound of the bike. Maybe I need to hear one of your exhausts to rid me of my slumbers. I'm getting 200km on the bike before hitting reserve (about 10-11 litres). I haven't gone faster than 120km/h on the thing yet but I don't really feel a need to on this bike! - crusing at 90km/h is plenty fine :-) Will find out top speed in a few months when I get on the NSE.

Manual written for cold climate....let the engine run for a minute or so and you can ride off at decent speeds but DO NOT rev the sh*t out of the bike for the first few km...u want the oil and engine to get to its operating temp before you do that.

Magneto are for really old bikes, triumphs have been running CDI for a very very very long time now.

are you refering to the oil cooler on the frame near the engine of the rectifier mounted in between your forks beneath the light? either way try not to obstruct airflow

On air filters...never a right or wrong answer, depends on what you want to do and how you want the bike to look. open pods look great and is good for top end but when riding in the rain it could be a problem and bottom end suffers as well....
