Hi all,

I am new to this forum. I been riding cbf150 for 1 yr 9 mths and been going boon siew for servicing. Can anyone suggest any other place to go for servicing?

I am also clueless on type of engine oil, when to change spark plug and all other maintenance issue. I just follow the servicing schedule given by boon siew. hope that anyone can advise me on the maintenance of the bike.

It has been almost 2 years since riding the CBF, if there are no issues with your current maintenance schedule don't change it.

General rule:

1. Change your EO every 1000km, if you are a rider who rides hard. If you are a normal rider who sticks to the speed limits then you can change probably around 1200 to 1500 km.

2. Spark plugs normally last very long as long as 5000km but since the cost of a plug is cheap ($7 to $10) for a normal plug might as well change after every 2 EO changes.

For more details, please take some time to read our earlier posts. The engine is bullet proof as long as you change your EO regularly.

that's quite good already. Some claim to have 40 to 45km/l. After the end of the day it all depends on how you ride the bike.

If you're riding a bike but not calculating the 50 possibilities in the 50 meters of road ahead of you, then you're dangerous and shouldnt be on one.

Well starting my bike can go around 48-50km/L coz running in so ride slowly...

But now coz running around 80-90km/L most of the time so around 45km/L....

Btw anyone got face this issue where when u change up to 5th gear den pull throttle will feel that the engine very rough and vibrate quite alot but after around 5 mins den it start to calm down....

I changed my EO 2 week ago but still got this problem, later going change to another EO and spark plug, hope will be better

at the very least, 40km/l.

but often then not, more than 40km/l for sure averaging 500km for full tank.

i suppose i do consider myself to be the conservative type of riding.

bike all stock.

After my ride stop and i off engine to test, same thing, press few times nth happen den after around 3rd - 4th try den sudden crank and works again

dat sounds strange...

my 2 cents worth, its not spark plug, bcos in the first place, cant even crank.

seems to be electrical contact problem, perhaps?

when in JB tonight just change the chain, leave the sprockets alone cos the stock sprockets are damn long lasting. The shop that we go to have DID gold standard chain, it should cos you more than a meal at Banafe cafe.

I know most would say that its best to change the whole set but your bike is still very new, the chain will mould itself to the sprocket in a short time. Eventually, when the sprocket wear out, you can change to the X-ring and sprocket set offered by Unique motors at $150, the chain super long lasting (mine lasted 30,000kms). Draw back is that the chain is heavy, could affect your performance slightly.

The stock chain is crab, it tends to seize up very early in its life.
