Hi pplz, jus ditch my trusty scoot of 6 yrs 3 mths and 2 days for CBF. Jus a few qns,

1: Wats the biggest tyre profile CBF can take in?

2: Anyone change to reputatable brand brake line? Cost?

3: I understand that the bike headlamp is running AC (Alternate Current). Anyone did a DC conversion?

Thks ppl and Merry Xmas

1: Not sure as I'm a newbie.

2: Lawrence (Biposto) changed to Spiegler lines. Not sure the cost. I'll be changing to HEL soon, when my servicing is due. Will cost about $80.

how do i adjust the carb main jet to prevent my bike from dieing off in gear 1 , n gear and so on.. My CBF150 always die off whenever i stop in idling speed. At traffic Light, my bike die off every time...zzz

Can't even warm up my bike before i go off...

Have to go off everytime my bike start or engine just die off fast...

Maybe you can ask your favourite mechanic to adjust your idling speed? Your bike haven't warm up properly, that may be why it dies off at the traffic lights.

Yes, the stock cbf150 DOES show u wat gear u are in... From N to 5 all have.... No need to mod..

I am 21 yo here, and i feel my bike is ok leh, coz i don wan to compare myself with sportbike as i wan the FC which is e most impt to me coz budget here...

If u wan a heavier choice den shld be cbf150 or pulsar, but heard that pulsar the parts are more exp and harder to find but i nv ride so don noe also...

Well said Altya, very proud of one of our youngest matured thinking riders. Stay away from the pulsar, the bike is better looking only than the CBF. As for the rest, ITS A LEMON. The bike is prone to leaks and after some time, the gears will give problems and the bike will need to be overhauled. As Altya said, the parts are very very expensive compared to the CBF. Trust me, I had surveyed and after 3 yrs with the bike, I will have no other 2B bike than the CBF. It saved me alot of $$.

MAke the sensible choice, choose the CBF over the Spark, Pulsar and FZ150i. There will be initial hiccups but once you have sorted it out. There will be no issues. Try to keep the bike stock if you want to enjoy trouble free riding, except for the tires, after the running in period try to change to a better ones.

1. Front 90/90/18 and rear 100/90/18. For rear you can go up to 110/80/18 but the bike will lose its pickup. Get good tyres and stock sizes is good enough.

2. my brake line is Spigelier, abt $80, Most brake lines are abt the same price. Try not to buy the cheap ones from malaysia or Ah Boy.

3. AC is ok, I did the DC conversion. But I think you are better off doing the 5 point grounding and change the headlamp to Osram Halogen is better, the lamp will be very bright and consistent.

Have you done carb tuning before? If not, don;t mess around, you will end up getting further away from your desired results. For your info the main jet can not be adjusted, it can be replaced to a bigger or smaller. What I suggest, is you bring up the idling timing, if that doesn't work, try to adjust the air intake adjustment screw.

Ic.... Hmmm budget bike sound good.. Spray cbf150 red and white i see at yahoo image look cool haha like kamen raider bike hahaha

Respraying the bike to customise your look is good. But just a warning, the stock paint is good. Take it from someone who has changed the bike colour 3 times in 3 years. Unless you spent more and go for 2K paint, its not worth the $$ or change.

The red and white version is actually a special edition. Haven't found out what was special abt it yet. Not available in SG anyway.

To me it looks nice. It has a '2A' bike look because it's big. Bigger than most other 2B bikes. It's like a mini FZ6S/FZ1S. Pulsar is good, consumption-wise but what i don't like about it is that spare parts are located at their exclusive dealer, in Bukit Merah. And I'm sure you have heard of what they say about shops there. (I'm not saying that ALL the shops there are like that though.) Spark will definitely have more aftermarket parts compared to the CBF as there's plenty of youngsters out there riding and modifying it. If there's demand, there's sure to be supply. For CBF, there's not much demand for aftermarket parts (as all the youngsters think it's an ah pek bike, and ah peks don't modify their bikes) so manufacturers don't bother supplying it.

To me it look longish shape.

Bigger than most other 2B bikes.

Yes i agree the tank is big and the bike looks longish.

It's like a mini FZ6S/FZ1S.

My personal opinion is not so. FZ6S and FZ1S is Yamaha. CBF is Honda. So FZ150i is the Grandson. Hehe. FZ1S is the Father. FZ6S is the big brother.

Yes Pulsar is good for mileage but the shape wise i don't like it. To my eyes it's damn UGLY. Haha. No offense to other pulsar riders ar. Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Another thing i heard abt pulsar if it breakdown get ready your pocket cause the spare parts are expensive and exclusive from the agent itself.

Yes correct Spark is for those who wan nice nice and very very budget one. To me the tank is too small same like my Wave. Fed up every time need to go top up petrol.

Last time when i was riding Honda Wave and wanted to change i also got 3 choices. Either Spark135, Honda CBF or Yamaha FZ150i.

In the end i choose FZ150i due to the chio look and the EFI technology. Why i never choose Spark135 or Honda CBF?

Spark135 the tank too small. I always go long distances. Don't want to top up every now and then. I need a bigger tank. So i skip this bike.

Honda CBF the tank is good. Very economy. Then i don't like the longish shape, carburator technology and the 18' rims.

Yamaha FZ150i Although the tank is pretty smaller than the CBF the looks is chio to my eyes. Liquid cooled engine. Latest EFI technology.

That is why in the end i choose the FZ150i.

Happy riding to all bro and Merry CHristmas. Santa is coming. Ho Ho Ho.

Morpheuz, like your views on the CBF. Spar is a good fast bike, but then again for those who are trying to save $$, the Spark has a small fuel tank and also the amount of accessories available will tempt you to keep changing. It was a wise choice to go for comfort over a popular and racy one.

WHY DO YOU KEEPING INVADING THE CBF THREAD?

WE HAVE TRIED TO BE SUBTLE TO YOU.

IF YOU ARE SOOOO HAPPY WITH YOUR FZ150i THEN BRING IT TO BED WITH YOU.

THIS IS A THREAD FOR CBF RIDERS TO SHARE THEIR EXPERIENCES OF CBF NOT YOUR OPINIONS OF WHY YOUR FZ150 IS BETTER. WE DON'T NEED YOUR "BRAGGING"

IF THE FORUMER, WANTS OPINION ON A DIFFERENT MODEL, THEY ARE SMART ENOUGH TO VISIT THE RELEVANT THREAD AND GET OPINIONS THERE. AS THEY KNOW THE BEST OPINIONS COME FROM PEOPLE WHO RIDE THAT PARTICULAR MODEL, NOT SOMEONE WHO LISTEN TO HEAR SAY AND GO AROUND TALK ABOUT SOMETHING THEY HAVE NO DIRECT EXPERIENCE ABOUT.

FINALLY, YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO MEET UP, WHEN IS THIS GOING TO TAKE PLACE? NO GUTS TO PUT YOUR FZ150I TO THE TEST AGAINST THE FASTEST CBF ON SG ROADS?

Sorry la bro. My bike is not a Racing machine to test. My bike is just a stock transport bike. All original parts and not sponsored by anyone. So I don wan to test machine with you cause in the end if the engine is spoilt i have to come out my own money for the repairs. Not you.

Finally once more time sorry. I won't joke with you anymore since you can't take it. As for my posting abt opinions that previous guy also got mention abt Spark and pulsar? So i cannot put my opinion here is it? Some times i just don understand.

hi fellow bikers,

with all due respect i think like what MJ mentioned all bikes have their pros and cons

one man's meat can be another man's poison

i believe all who visit any thread in SBF are here to share and to find out more to help them make better decisions

i am riding a pulsar for 1 yr+ now and i am loving my bike like how you guys love your ride

lets just make peace and share riding tips and info with all fellow riders or to be riders

i am not promoting the pulsar but if you do have any questions or queries on the pulsar do feel free to come to our thread SBT(Singapore Bajaj Team) to check us out and our members will be more than happy to share all the pros and cons on our bike

yes we do not hide that our bike has cons

which bike don't have

Cheers :)

Alamak bro? You sounds angry? Sorry if i offended you in anyway. Don't be angry ok? It was just meant to be a joke. I never knew that you would turn angry. Well some pple cannot take joke. I understand.

WHAT? A bike with the latest EFI technology and liquid cooled cannot withstand a test run with a old skool 4 stroke machine.......hehe.. just joking.. :)

My personal opinion is not so. FZ6S and FZ1S is Yamaha. CBF is Honda. So FZ150i is the Grandson. Hehe. FZ1S is the Father. FZ6S is the big brother.

To me, and I believe most others also, the FZ150i is the successor to the legendary RXZ. It looks NOTHING like the big Fazers.

Bottom line is, every bike has it's pros and cons. You just have to compare them and make your decision. I'm loving my decision.

Sorry double post.

Anyways, I'm only 25 so I don't really care that people say that it's an ah pek bike. To me, it gives me a reason to skip buying a 2A bike and go straight to getting a class 2 bike.

Well said bro, 21 yo here and don really regret getting this bike... People might say why get ah pek bike, why don get sport bike, get SP, KR, R15 or RS125 but for me, looks is something that will pass with time, after riding ur "young" bike for long u will surely start to feel other bike look cooler.... But FC is one thing that u won find it bored/sian with coz petrol is just one word to describe in SG, EXPENSIVE...

For me coz e main purpose of my bike is to do wat its invented/born to do, to transport people/things and not for me to hao lian to people... So i just get a bike that is ok looking, doesnt give alot prob, cheap to maintain, gd FC and thats it... If i wan to show off, i would have got a car or a class 2 bike but no $ here so get this 2b bike lo!

And for those people that comes in and try to keep promoting their bike, i would just say that one man's meat is one man's poison BUT this thread is still a CBF150 thread so let us just keep it to the pros and cons of the CBF150 and not e comparison of it with other models ba....

A late Merry Christmas and gd night!

Hi there seniors...been riding my cbf150 for quite awhile. Reading this forum, makes me gian to pimp my ride..hehe. Btw, understand that our rims is 18"..is there other available chio sports rim that can fit our bike? Or at least any bike shop in east side can do powder coating to black?

Does our bike have any power cut? Seems like at 105-110km, my bike will not rev any higher...

dont think there is power cut, max speed is 110km/h no matter how u mod.

increasing the torque will be more useful for singapore road

search the forum and u will find a shop in defu that do powder coat but they are not a bike shop and u have to detach and polish and SAND the RIMS before u sent it in. price about 100 a piece.

There is a power cut by the CDI at 9000 rpm. To get rid of it means changing the cdi to a digital one. Sounds easy? but there's more work than words. Also, its expensive. One of our riders managed to get up to 120 to 125km/h on his CBF with an "operated" stock exhaust. However, his FC is quite high, full tank reaching abt 300km instead of 450km. I have tried, but then again, I have done extremes to the CBF over my 3 yrs with the bike. It is not recommended for our boys and girls who are looking at a decent mode of transport. My mods were expensive, that's why I was able to maintain my FC same as stock bike but with performance not seen by other CBF.

I agree with what Pika says, SG roads, get the bike torquey is better than going to high speed. We all want to keep our license as long as we can. Playing cat and mouse with our TP uncle is one stress we can live without in a already stressful city of ours.

Meet us on one of our rides and you can get a better picture of what we are talking about.
