Ok lar i tell ah xiong that the blue / white R6 06 in unity (opps you dont even know what that is) let me , R46 and who else interested to allow us to design the body, Dont worry. Even if its yours. You sure got high chance of winning Round 2 MSS. Cos the Design will distract the other riders. Yeah i finnaly got chance to try out my hand at designing a bike. whooooo hooooo. :cheer:

 

Gd ideal i bring some black marker along.

brother, remember something....we are not doing daily commuting with this bike. but really thrashing the rpm on the track. can u imagine the wear and tear. if dont maintain, of course more problem la....

 

and by the way, i think ur cam tensioner spoil already....ah siong/xiong was telling me about noise from ur engine.

 

just to share the light everyone.

 

THAMU from Bikelab told me that the r6 has a hydraulic cam chain tensioner which tends to spoil quite easily. i just bought mine yesterday. it cost 80 for the tensioner and 5 for the gasket...labour no clue....but no need to remove engine to install.

 

 

Amba, did u buy the stock Cam Tensioner or APE Cam Tensioner?

I need to get a new Cam Tensioner as well... :cry:

Play Play Lacing sure Tensioner not enough tension one. So need to buy new Hydrulic Tensioner.... MR Snake man tell me this but don't say i quote him huh. Maybe i never type word for word.

that was one i considered. but dunno when that website last updated.for racing this is sure recommended. as u can give cam chains a little slack.

 

if u confirm getting for ur R1 and if it seller says can fit R6 06/07....then i will get 2. order more can save on shipping.

This is how APE Manual Cam Chain Tensioner looks like:

This is how a stock R1 04-05 Cam Chain Tensioner looks like. Sorry, I dun have a sample of R6. It might be similar thou as it's hydraulic

This is extracted from APE (American Performance Engineering).

 

"APE manual cam chain tensioners are designed to replace the automatic and hydraulic tensioners on high performance engines. The automatic adjusters can back out when the throttle is closed suddenly at high rpm. This allows the cams to go momentarely out of time, and can result in bent valves and/or serious engine damage. Hydraulic tensioners have a tendency to put too much tension on the chain guide under high rpm/high oil pressure conditions, resulting in permature wear.

Both problems can be eliminated with the installation of the APE manual tensioner. No matter what the engine does, the cam chain tension will remain constant. An APE manual cam chain tensioner is a must for any kind of performance riding.

APE manual tensioners are CNC machined from billet alloy to exact tolerances for perfect fit."

Due to wear & tear, mine's effected as well. My cam chain sounds like a valve train... lol. Time to get a replacement, so I'm actually considering on getting either APE or stock.

Amba, I managed to find another source which is slightly cheaper than the link u provided. They have it for R6 06 too.

I'm still considering to go for stock or APE... as it seems that R1 06's Cam Tensioner is different from R1 04-05. I'll need to check up on this 1st. If I decide to get it, I'll let u guys knw.
