i'm not an expert:sorry: .. but wat i meant was, stock exhausts have o2 sensors, it's an electronic part of the cat converter. i dunno if some full systems have o2 sensors attached to their mid-pipe. but they do have 02 ports so they can use an external sensor. full sys need this port so that they can check if the bike is running lean or rich.. in order to maximise their air/fuel ratio.. right ?:confused:

 

 

hmmm. . .i agree with Casanova, on the "Stock exhaust-cat converter" there is an o2 port for the o2 sensors. . . but as for aftermarket exhaust, these o2 port are usually "blocked" or "closed" with a nut for more accurate tuning with the PcIII. . .

 

Cuz if these o2 port are not "blocked" but instead plugged with the bike's o2 sensors, the Ecu will keep "adjusting" the air/fuel ratio therefore tuning with the PcIII won't be accurate . . .

 

Correct me if i'm wrong, sorry if i give wrong info :sweat:

i might be mistaken but hear me out.. we do have a lambda sensor (sorry for the misspelled term :lol:) or a.k.a the 02 sensor. it helps to maintain the air/fuel ratio, preventing it from running too rich or too lean. it helps to prevent excessive carbon omissions. unlike the stock exhausts, full-systems don't have a cat converter, therefore needing the port to insert the lambda sensor, which later helps u to identify whether ur bike is running rich or lean..:deal:

 

Okie bro..after further research, yes our bike do have the lambda sensor aka O2 sensor on the bike. Attached to the exhaust and near the mid pipe to be exact..

 

To answer your question, the lambda sensor will not maintain or adjust A/F ratio..instead its just to 'tell' the ecu that its rich or lean and to make neccesary fuel adjustments..

 

My mistake is I didn't know lambda sensor is also called O2 sensor.. :sweat:

best solution is change to stock, since ur stock bike. when u full system then consider aftermarket filter etc...

woah..change DD can gain 3km/hr..

 

But I tot current bikes speedo is already tagged to the engine rpm?? No matter wat you do..speed on the speedo at a given rpm will never change..even modifying the engine, change sprockets won't change e numbers on the speedo..

 

For example..I changed my sprockets + 2 rear on my CBR1K, engine speed at 4K rpm will show for example 120km/hr stock..after sprocket change also 120km/hr but its not actually 120km/hr..its 110km/hr.

 

I've also done engine mods like HRC camshafts, cam sprockets, porting and stuffs..still speed km/hr at a given rpm is the same..

 

Unless R6 now has change technology...then I'm sorry give wrong info.

 

ic.. so all r6 should have the same speed at the same rpm??? wats urs?

Any idea how come we are at same rpm but still all bikes diff speed?:?

go n check ur batt's resting voltage.. it shld be 12.8v.. anything less the batt needs chargin..

 

tht might just be the cause for it.. im not using any volt meter.. i ask bike shop to check for me.. thanks dude..

I was about to say the same thing..only way for the speed to show differently is when you change sprockets..either front or rear. I'm going out now..will chk and tell later..mine is stock..ciao!!

Guys to clear up some air, our stock cat box there is an o2 sensor there so even if you change to slip ons,O2 sensor still working. Some full sys do nto have the O2 sensor there but some have.

 

520 conversion if im not wrong the speed on the speedo is not accurate as i got a frend running at 299 on his k5600 but still we are streaming pass him keke LOLX.

Usually when ppl convert to 520 chain conversion, they will drop the sprocket sizes for pickup(That's really the purpose for doing the conversion anyway)

 

But if you stay with the original sprocket size, the speed would remain the same as it's taking it's measurement off the front sprocket..

 

This info is definitely accurate for gixxer, most class 2 bikes should be working the same way thou..

Both of what you mention would be technically correct...520 is bascially lighter in terms of weight..

 

But as not to alter the speedo reading, maintain the same size for front..

 

I did a conversion on my k4 last time, basically very gd pickup(I drop 1 or 2 off the front) and it basically screws up my speedo readings too... :lol:

Once youchange spocker size speed readings on speedo is not accurate already as you will not be running eg 250 even though your speedo shows 250 and yes 520 pickup definitely much better.

520 conversion better pickup thus RPM higher to match original sprockets size and settings at e same speed.

To answer someone's ques..I did went out and ride on 6th gear at 6K rpm..my speed is 109km/hr..

 

Its actually how u look at the tacho & speedo..some rider short, some rider tall so the elevation(eye point) is different thus the needle pointing to 6K rpm is different to every rider..thats where the ques of "why my speed diff frm yours at 6K rpm?" came about..

 

Dun believe..try riding tuck in under the windscreen and aim for 6K rpm then see the speedo. Then change to normal riding..aim 6K rpm then see speedo..sure different speed. :cheer:
