Daelim Magma .. help needed. Advices!

hi im trying to help him repair his bike. cant bear looking at him in a MRT going to work at Changi Airport..

 

Im a newbie so i noe nuts about bike.

he's the problem

 

his bike is damn noisy lar for a 4 stroke cruiser like bike..!!

and seems to have no more power..!!

when go uphill or slope ah like can anytime explode lyk dat.(exagerating)

now he nvr ride lor.

 

anyway no major mod done to the bike. he's been using it for 9 years liao no major problem. i asked my dad and he said the block crack( sumthing like dat)

.. haiz very pityful leh.. some people suggesting overhaul but what the hell i dun even noe wad it means.( overhaul- like a ship related thingy leh)..

 

so pls help me lar fellow bikers. any if overhaul done roughly how much?

im a low to middle income family so help me recommend some shops ah! thx very much

 

bike is if not wrong 125cc four stroke bike. hmmm.. korean make daelim magma, HELP!!!!!!!!!

where do you stay? if you are a west side rider, then you might want to go down to Boon Siew @ Toh Guan.

 

Loss of power probably means that the bike is due for a full servicing + overhaul engine anyway. What the mechanic will probably do is re-bore the block and change the piston. its going to take a few days mind you. make sure the mechanic cleans the carbon from the pipe too. after the overhaul you should ask your father to run in the bike again.

 

however if it does have a cracked block... then its going to be costly. hopefully Boon Siew has a few Magma blocks in their shop.

hi .... riding almost the same bike .

 

Top speed for this is 80 -100km/hr depends n horsepower not much coz of its cc and build. This bike is a 125cc 4stroke bike , and is 9yrs old so u wont be getting even much from it , always opening throttle to the max for this bike will kill it, block crack , piston break. This bike do not have power n is not meant for power useage , its a transportation bike . If it DRINKS petorl , something is really really really very wrong 'unless MOD' coz this bike saves petorl ( 35km/L - 42km/L ) Due to the age , changin of engine oil will be around 2500km , every 2 times chaning engine oil change oil fliter. Changin EO cost abt $10-$12 , oil fliter abt $3-$5 .

 

 

 

going uphill or slope this all depends on the load on it . But 2 things for sure , u have to open throttle thus sounds nosiy n it will move rather slowly in ur eyes or i meant slower than others .

 

u mentioned noisy , the noise is from where ? exhuast ? engine ? exhuast may be due to ur dad hollow the pipe or pipe crack at the area where the main stand touches when up..

 

if block crack for daelim , most likely u will see smoke coz stuffs leak out from block will contact with ,very hot engine casing fast. Alternative is u will notice substance on ur block .

 

 

for a ride of 9yrs i will advice overhaul it if u or ur dad still wants to ride it .overhaul is abt $200 not inculding the faults found later =)

 

 

IF u still think that something is wrong in the engine , head back to the authorise shop . U never know if things crack or chipped inside the engine unless opened up.

 

CHONG KOK the sole agent for daelims are located .. Bukit Batok , Jurong or kaki bukit . coz usually spare prts for daelim outside shop will not have n some will bluff say have but use other bike parts in the end wear n tear faster .

If i'm not wrong it shud be a FP or FQ plate .

i rode it twice. yeap the casing heats up damn fast.

hmm then the block not crack coz no white smoke..no mods done

the noisy sound may also come from the exhaust. is the exhaust rusty?? if it is then there is a high chance there is a hole some where in the exhaust. The performance will also drop. My opinion is dun repair, the bike only have a market value of $300 to $500. The repair cost is very likely to be very much higher than the cost of the bike.
