this should revere(rear part) and deauville(front part) together.

Yeah it looks like it... but I don't like the revere tail... I am thinking of making this even more tour friendly, so the back would be with 2 side pannier (GIVI E21) and might mod the seat a little to have these panniers real neat and tight, change the tails lights and signal also lah.

As for the front, yes i am aware of the expose wire, but that can be easily done by hiding it behind the frame. Also thinking of mod the front part of the fuel tank and make it bigger for more distance on a single pump and hopefully able to fit in a fuel guage, mod the head light to either single like super 4 or twin round head light like those Baja offroad type. The whole meter to change to vapor digital, so save space and all... But I still like the tall windshield so have to figure out how to keep that.

I think it might look ugly, but I am a more practical approach then keeping it nice...

What is holding me back is the cost to all these mod... have to do them in stages. And also in the future how to sell with all these mod? haha... so might have to keep it for life and scrap it ultimately :)

Bro Fishtan,

wow ambitious project you got there bro.

But just wondering will your mod be LTA friendly?

Scarli after mod failed LTA inspection siao liao?

anyway just to add-I am in the opinion that dual headlight is better.

if i had it my way, i would HID the low beam, to see and be seen - brighter for me to see the road at night and for others to see me too.

I am sure our bros here would be happy to lend a hand to your project if you raise yours.

Don't think LTA will bother at all as long as all the essential original exhaust pipe, headlight not some super blinding HID etc, license plate size correct and brakes working and tyre is legel street type... they don't bother about the rest.

But when going in Thai then they want to see Log Card and color of bike same as the real bike... so I either have to change the Log Card or still have the bike after all these to have red... maybe keep my tank red! haha. :cheeky:

my car(honda odyssey) recently hard to start, last week totally can not start, the battery changed less than 1 year, should not battery problem, 3 days b4 i bought a battery charger($68), recharge whole night, but still can not start, 2 days b4 i bought a new battery($95), after replace it still can not start. then yesterday i open the engine, take out starter motor, inside the carbon brush finished, but today is public holiday, all the parts shops closed. maybe till monday can get new carbon brush.

compare if send it to car shop, they may repair it very fast, but they should not repair the starter motor, just replace a new 1, or give u another used but repaired starter motor, repair yours then sell it to another pp. y they should not repair it for u? carbon brush should only few dollor, but whole starter motor should few hundred dollor, if you are open a repair shop, which profit you want to earn? to tell this, just let you know self service is how to save your $. but this thing if let car repair shop know, sure they wont happy, haha...

hope can get new only carbon brush, not whole starter motor...

Hi Bro Mao,

Opening a workshop is not cheap and time means money. So in order to speed up the work and problems, they will usually require you to change the whole starter or maybe a re-conditioned starter which is much cheaper. They won't dismantle it cos car owners nowadays want things to be be repair fast and move on with it. If the workshop just change the carbon brushes ( if it is the fault ), then is ok with it. What happened if the car owner came back a few days with the same starting problem. This time it might be the starter actuating soleniod, but most car owners are just common layman who are not trained mechanics, so they are ignorant. Starters that are a few years old might not work as good as new ones, problems will crop up with the starter armature failure, field coil assembly, commutator burns, etc. So inorder to safe guard himself from all these hassle, the mechanic will just change the whole starter.

If we know how to meddle with cars, then by all means we DIY and save costs, but must factor in the time taken, layoff of the vehicle, storage place if the vehicle should be off road for a few days.

Just a normal discussion only...just my 2 cents worth......lol

yes, agree your points.

everybody by their working to make living, and everyone also try to save $ as much as they can.

for me, save $ is one point, another point is i like to touch it, to open up and see wat inside, machine how to work, to check machine condition, and after repaired the successful feeling... its also like my hobby.

today i looking 4 the parts, all the parts shop don sell only carbon brush, even honda car dealer also no stock. but have new whole set of starter motor, cost over $1k, finally get a hardware shop just bought the carbon brush, 1 set $5.35 only, but need to mod, size not same. just finish mod and repaired start motor, tmr got things to play liao, put back all the car's parts, now all the parts and tools lay down in yard, and alot carbon powder makes my yard like hell... heng! clean up yard no need i do.

Hey Mao, I totally agree with you, big project and might have to not ride the bike for a while!! and yes to realise it is hard.... but there is this voice inside me that tell me if I don't try I will never know! haha... So the worse case situation is I end up with a ugly bike or I need to spend some more money to restore it to original condition... both which I am getting prepared for it :) So now is still in the planning and research stage lor :) When will I start? Who knows... now still toying with the idea. :)

I am sure at some stage I will need your expertise thou... help please :)

Haha Mao you like me like that, like to take it apart but you more expert than me!! My deauville starter motor carbon also going to gone already... how I know? Cos last time my super 4 also had the situation like you said about your car and I learn from that... but good thing is the bike shop did not cheat me and just change the starter motor carbon for me...

So now I want to learn how to do my bike starter motor carbon. Can teach me how to do this? give me a sms or call me please, then I go ever success to buy the carbon.
