Hi, please take note for replacement of nt650 windshield you need to remove the front top fairing box (just be careful of the fairing is very weak) and for NT700 Just remove 4 screw from the wind shield.

Firstly

... look at the master at work ... thorough health check ... you don't get that kind of attention at workshop... i found out from many mechanics that he' s really super to do that.... I salute more1978 aka Dr Deauville!!!

Dr Deauville 15Mar2011-1.jpgDr Deauville15Mar2011-2.jpg

Secondly

... he repaired, rebuilt and restored health to the NT650V!

Dr Deauville 18 Apr 2011_3.JPGDr Deauville 18 Apr 2011_4.JPG

Last but not least:

If not for my NT700V, I would not hesitate to buy his bike, knowing that he had restored the bike !!!

When I was ready to buy NT650V, his first rebuilt bike was already bought over by bro Hologi. I then scouted and looked at many but could not find one that I was confident enough to buy.

Buy it before it's gone.

Thanks, bro, I appreciate it. See you on Mon afternoon!

After fixing it, I am sure I will get careless drivers' attention when they cut into my path haphazardly with good blast from a good two tone horn! It can save my life or myself from injury!!!

THANK YOU, Bro Chris aka redlavita!!! For helping me to install theTwin horn!. Now the HORN can drive the daylight out of errant drivers who seem blind to my bike presence on the road and that my bike has 2 wheels !!!

See pics of the horn fixed behind the front cowling.

Hi All,

Just some info......Changi ASP offer to take in my Deuville at 1.5k without COE. When they sell they include a COE n new spray paint which their cost is about 4k. Selling at 6k with interest loan u all know how much they earn....

Posted (edited)

as for bike shop their are open for business, they will mark up 1 to 2k to cover their overhead cost and don't forget they may have to park there for month, therefore most of the shop will only take in this price, eg bike shop take in 1.5k + new COE 2.5k + some repair require by new buyer(200-300), + new paint work(350-400) + Transfer fee (Include it before you buy ) + insurance (Include it before you buy ) + com for sale man and overhead cost, = OTR price. as for loan interest is belong to bank (and most of the bike shop have to buy back from bank, if the buyer didn't not pay the loan and the bank take back the bike),

anyway is still good your can buy it from direct selling.and pay full cash, may be you can save a few K

Food for Thoughts.

Consider the following and ask:

In addition, how much the workshop has repaired - do we really know?

I think when the bike starts, that's is all we hear. Unless the engine is in very bad condition, we cannot tell much about it.

Can you tell just by looking whether the brakes, water pump, rectifier or coil or whatever need changing?

How many workshops allow you to test ride? Almost all bikes are not connected to battery.

Remember, they can be resprayed and polished to make the bikes look showroom condition.

The guarantee they give is - for what?

After you have considered all the above, then buy.

The biggest advantage is that you can pay by installment.

Bro Hippo, spoke well with:

anyway is still good your can buy it from direct selling.and pay full cash, may be you can save a few K

Of course, we would expect reasonable price and not accept too high price from owners who think their bikes are made of "gold: hehee :) Having said that, owners have their right, of course, to ask any price but they certainly face the risk of having their bikes unsold through ages.

Wah so long never see the site so much happening leow ah, Boner sold his bike and a new DV rider and another looking for DV... haha... me forever thinking of selling bike one o_O... or actually now hand itchy again and thinking of mod the whole front to get rid of the fairing and put on a set of Baja twin headlights :thumb:... haha :) I know it will be ugly but better than my old fairing keep cracking , the latest is the right hand side mirror there, the whole fairing is crack thru but the screws are hold them together so not doing anything yet until I have the time... Oh also someone looking for tall windscreen? If I really do the mod, I would sell my tall windscreen. :p

Mao, wanna show me how to change the clutch disk? Now bike hitting 70++k already I think high time to change.

Also anyone can enlighten me why my volt meter sometime jump? As it it shows 13.2V then suddenly drop to 2v and then back to 13.3v and then drop again... and all these while I was riding smooth on highway... connector? Rectifier? Can not be coil cos I just change it less than 6 month ago. :cheeky:

Hi Bro Fishtan,

Mao Mao is not in Singapore. Give him a call on Friday if you can wait - he may be back by then.

Ever think of strengthening the fairing by reinforcing them with fiber glass?

As for erratic charging, i think it could be caused by connector and / or rectifier. Get it fixed as any delay may lead one problem to another.

I had the same problem recently. It turned out that 3 parts - connector, rectifier and coil - needed change. When that happened, you need EO and oil filter change. Hard lesson learnt for me - if I had identified and fixed the problem earlier, maybe only one or two parts need change - connector or connector/rectifier. Anyway, it's wear and tear thing.

Just an update.

I bought a stock Honda pair (+screws) for only $32+ from Chong Aik.

(Thanks to a nice saleman who couldn't find the right after market model for me. He suggested I gave Chong Aik a try as they could carry some stocks.)

They did not have the stock screws though. Have to make do with the screws meant for another Honda bike. (The specs are almost the same, you just have to live with the screw thread constantly rubbing the inside bore of the bar-end.)

Goo
