So the top portion of the air box has been replaced. Meaning that the thing is now stock lah. So no holes or what so ever?? Those sounds u heard are from the throttle body itself. Its the butterflies opening and closing. I worry that there may be some plastic pieces that are lodged there or sumthing. Did he disturb anything by the side of the throttle body? Like this black plug by the right side of the throttle body??

 

The sound u heard. Was it like a stutter EEe EEe EEe... If like stutter than it mite just be your batt running low.

Why need to make hole ah. It is not intentionally one. Correct or not ah Ah Gui. He just wanna open the air box for god knows why and without removing the screw at the center, he shove a minus screw driver into the side of the airbox to ply it open...... End up the top part crack.....

 

Replaced the top part already. Nothing was done drastically to it. Just take out old one and replace new one. thats all.

don't worry flareon, i have the same sound as you, i think. come down this friday then we compare lar..

relax lar bro. im sure Flareon didnt buy the bike only yesterday. the fact that he only noticed the sound now shows that its something out of the ordinary only recently..

 

the butterflies are used to control the amount of air going in. and i believe that when you first turn on your ignition, a certain sound is heard. this along with the calibration of the tach needle. however the sound does not come from the needle. therefore, it CAN be a possibility that the sound comes from the calibration of the butterfly valves to the MIN VALUE when you first turn on the ignition.

the servos running the valves are not that silent you know. unless you have personally seen Flareon's bike, i suggest you shouldn't assume and rebutt anything you see. they are just innocent people giving suggestions on what could be the problem. i don't see no harm doing that. so take it easy bro. we can probably have a look at Flareon's bike on friday to have an in-depth look.

its not a joke, n i mean it...

u can consider e KAWA VERSEY!!!

its a good bike, can go offroad, can go touring, can add boxes (still look good after adding boxes), good for location use, torqy, powerful, ur gf can still hug u when pillion, lots of poisons i mean accessories available, u wont overkill e bike due to not fully maximising e power etc, n its much more affordable den e BMW GS but u can do juz as much on it...

maybe get e RED one lah... looks more fierce...

one BRIGHT GREEN GRASSHOPPER is enough... =P

 

n hor, dun consider e HONDA SILVERWING... NO good...

u not uncle like me yet...

that bike is for lazy ppl like me...

n someone who love to shop... always got alot of barang barang to carry ard...

My bad, 1st post today morning. I forgot to take home the recorded sound so cannot run it in my "sound tight studio" hahahha.

 

Will record mine today and put up here for comparison. From what I can see, you dun have to worry that much. Will update here again when I truely have heard the sound clips he sent.
