HKL should have becos I just went last week and the mech ask me whether I want to change my air filter ... I asked need retuning when adding after market air filter ... he told me actually no need to re-tune... but if I want .. he can tune it for me at a cost of about $30... Hope this info is good enough for you....

By the way, if you refer to DynoJet tuning for PC... then there are only two places I know ... HKL and Racewerkz. For Dynojet tuning ... more costly, dunno the exact amt though...

if im not wrong, thats only TPS tuning right?

Hmmm how will he tune the bike? I am still wondering. Maybe shift the position of the Air Filter? The ECU still takes control of the Air-Fuel Sensors. If he tweek the TPS, the Air-Fuel is affected. Seen it on my Air-Fuel Controller.

Anyway TPS can do yourself one. It does improve throttle smoothness when in operation. Jus don't over do it. Will lose Engine brakes.

And for $30, if only tweek TPS, too rich for my blood.

It just dont make sense that motodiam is selling GSR400 @ S$16K+, especially the ones to be sold for GSR400 was manufactured in year 2007. That time, where got Yen rising so high against US$ or S$?

News came out also no more production of GSR400. so, even if one get a GSR400, it is year 2007 manufactured ones. Why pay high price now for nothing related to high yen for a bike that was at 2007's sale price?

Lastly, with world economy experiencing recession, all the more doesn't make sense for manufacturers / distributors to hoard all these old stocks to sell at current high price.

i don't think it is year 2007... more to 2008 year. bike shop are business ppl, their objective is make profit. when the yen is low, they stock up, then when the yen is high they sell high too and quote it is due to currency exchange. of course they too have risk whereby if the bike becomes un-hype and becomes unpopular, they have stock in their ware collecting dust! so when time to make money, they will go make it but when they have lost, u won't know it.

like me, i buy share when they are low, and sell it when the share price increases.

abt the issue of resale... shop tends to underquote u cuz, they have to 'refurbish' back then sell later, and/or left the bike at the shop until the nxt biker willing to buy it. if the bike left there for months or years, the price is dropping cuz of the 10 years thing, thus they are taking the risk. look around and try to point how many 2A bikes are there. most prominant is Super 4, which normal ppl who use bike for transport will get it for second hand but if the biker is the type tht said tht his/her bike is a part of them they will tend to get 'weird' bikes (different from the rest). for me, i'm willing to try RVF400, GSXR400 and ducatis monster but too bad most of them i check out out are over 6 years....

you kena poison also.. good. time to run in the tyres first. then enjoy!

i checked with a bike shop just recently. maybe last friday. but they said that gsr4 hasnt stopped production leh.
you believe Suzuki or you believe the shop? what the shops means is you still can get new GSRs. but no more new models coming out from the factory.. means its while stocks last.

Squirt some KY will do the trick. Super smooth....Singa Oil can also.

Everyday In-Out-In-Out....lubrication confirm finish leh. So need to assist.

Used to have this problem with my last ride... key can push in, hard to turn on(ignition)... also when turn off... hard to pull it out ... o_O (sounds like dog making l**e ...hahaha) .... so what I did was to use WD-40 and with some pushing in and out of the key action... and wah lah ... it's back to normal.

For my current baby GSR, I have not such problem yet because I am spraying a little bit of the GT-84 into the keyhole(when doing my monthly metal parts maintenance) and sometimes WD-40 also.

Was told by Racewerkz guys that have to lub the starter motor's contact point which is located on the right of your bike(under the fuel tank) and it looked like a half a size of a cola can.. the contact point is at the top of the "can"... dunno if you guys are doing also the same? Beside that... I just "Hantum" with the GT-84 if I see anything that is metal... footrest... side stand... levers... handle bar... fork bar... etc...

Naz, there is a way to turn it easier..... no need to use any lube.... just tilt the key downwards and turn....

I must say that not all holes are the same. Tilting and turning mite even spoil the pins. Best is lube and play around with the key hole. Find the right and smoothest method to plunge the key in and twist it. The key hole is exposed everyday so dirt and dust might get shoved in.

Oh and i tot that fella sold of the GSR and bought a F up problematic Revo. He got himself a busa instead? Or was that all a lie in a desperate attempt for attention. :sian:

Tuning ? There's many ways to tune.

1. EFI injector servicing (racewerk), the true method.

2. EFI injector balancing, most shop can do, same special gadget as carb balancing. No need to wash injector, just plug in the gadget to balance. If shop say need wash then its a rip-off..only racewerk got the machine to wash.

3. TPS tuning, can diy, just get the tamper proof torx driver. For throttle smoothness.

4. X-tre, tweak mapping.

5. Teka mapping & etc..

6. PC3

Pardon me ... I read the article and it seems that nothing it descripted is new... furthermore the article did not have any date on it... it may be an old article years back...

As I have analysed the article .... it could mean upgraded from normal non-abs to the abs version as per highlight in above...

I doubted these are new... these colours have been out like last year...

Quoted from IcecoolT post #22077

"

new" colours ( black frames )

pearl nebular black

metallic mistic silver

candy max orange

pearl suzuki deep blue

metallic thunder gray

"

The above mentioned colors are

1. Pearl Mirage White

2. Pearl Nebular Black

3. Metallic Toriton Blue/Metallic Mystic Silver

The above mentioned website is from Italy ... so it meant the colors are out for GSR600 last year ....

Maybe they have been porting the colours from GSR600 to GSR400... and called them new colours...

Yes agreed but these colours are for the 600cc models. From the link given, it is confirmed for the 600cc. They maybe from Suzuki, but 600 is from europe and 400 is from japan. If you keep track of the Suzuki Japan's website, they are having these colours now for the 400cc. Previously these colours were not available in the website. Last I check the website with the sad news was last month.

And further info like stop production, have disappeared from the website. There are changes in the engine specs. Not much but slight changes. This proves that they have not stop production. This maybe because of demand for the bike. Who knows.

I think what Razi said is true from the Jap site for GSR400... they may have new GSR400 coming out... with better specs.... below are my findings:

Gear position indicator - attaching Multiple function meter

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To proving and 16,000rpm of the high rotary Takaide force-like engine red zone of the analog tachometer which is cut starts from 13,500rpm. On meter panel left and right, the digital speedometer, twin trip meter, the fuel gauge and the temperature gauge, the digital clock, arranging the gear position indicator and various indicators.

The multi-function meter panel which administers man machine interface.

It now also comes with stock visor:

New mirror(similar to S4 mirror):

It now also has parking option on the key slot like GSR600:

One word to describe... "Hurray!!!"

That means ... more productions and prices for parts will not be those "Vintage bike" prices.... phew... Hopefully they come up with more GSR400 pipes....

i wonder if our current one can change to include the parking options. sometimes i wan to ON the signal but not the headlight and the engine off. i don't mind changing the cover and the key lock system.
