all i know these iridium plugs are meant to last longer and better spark..

My normal plugs lasted 50'000km. So iridium should be able to last longer as they cost much more than the normal plugs.

I find it strange coz you can do a push start but not electric start. If can start means the plugs are fine. Only need to know which one is causing the fault (if the plugs are the caused).

It could be many factors like crank too many times so battery a little low. To start a bike/car need quite a lot of power. Check your battery voltage before you start the bike in the morning. Should be able to see how much charge it can store.

haha... the batt is ok la... can use the starter only when our bike almost reach the point to revive the engine it gone... so prob is the spark ther... y i push can start? is bcos when we push our bike with gear initially it will make the spark to giv more spark and O2 getting in... argh... sumthing like that la.. so it will make it start.. if batt dead.. no matter how u wont make it start also...

fly with wings huh??? after see razi say like that break into 2 lar.. or wat lar.. sound like very scary lol... but nevertheless i will try eventually:cheeky:

haiz,, juz now my bike cannot start!!! got batt.... then check and listen the sound like the spark plug cannot light up the engine...:cheeky: good thing is in carpark where i can push down slop and start up with gear.. then go HKL change irilium plug now... cost me like a bomb.... 80 dollar....:dozed: anyway it feel like got a bit more power then b4 this... hope it will end the story here... not like it cannot start again later...

Just to share my own experience. If you cant start at the 1st attempt, you MUST open throttle and rev the engine at 2nd attempt. (This will normally happen during rainy days)

If you crank the engine again without opening the throttle, there is a risk that the engine will get flooded and you will face a hard time to start the bike.

after reading the wiki..

think also could be the spark plug too wet, covered with excessive petrol, thus "over the flammable limit" and cannot be started..

hmm.. I got this issue for my old 2-stroke bike.. keep changin the spark plugs till dozen time also no use (i thought the bikeshop cheated me on the spark plug.. that long time ago), then 1 of my colleague taught me of using lighter to burn the spark plug to clean the oil and carbon if got problem.. well 2-stroke bike easy to take out spark-plug to do it.. don't think it will be useful for GSR.. lolx..

anyway, that's my experience..

Anyway once adjust TPS (a safe range with Engine Braking) also same, less obvious. Last time did a change that is too much (Flat spot completely gone), then got prob going down Benjamin Shears Bridge to Suntec City (Almost no engine braking). Hell of a scary moment. hahahha.

Indeed tat slope is scary...but i miss the "chicane" tat was ther when tat area under construction..cud only try wit my S4...skali get GSR tink wan to try, go ther become straight rd again...

Yes can give it a try. From some bad reviews like pistons gone case, plugs breaks into 2 or maybe many more. That is the danger that I won't wanna risk on my bikey.

Thus the need to monitor to be safe than sorry. Coz the sparks produce is a lot more powderful than the original ones. Not to deter but to advice.

A-HA!!!this plug break into two...Almost every workshop can tell u which brand of iridium plugs will do tat...OWS...some even had the electrode broke and drop into the cylinder, and it found itdelf wedged between the piston ring and the cylinder wall...heard from Ah Chong tis had happened to a CBR400...had to blardy overhaul the whole engine and bore the cylinders...all becos of a very small piece of metal...

Two weeks not that long lah brader..juz securely cover ur bike...and ask someone to warm-up the bike (approx 10mins) once a week can oready..unless ur keeping it for a period of 6mths, then need to change EO and coolant(if im not wrong)....

Let me extract a portion of the site that u had given.

"Engine flooding was a common problem with carbureted cars, but newer fuel-injected engines are immune to the problem"

ur right bro...well, most of us dont need wiki to tell us this man....hahahaha... i was about to reply, but u beat me to it 1st...hHAHAH

oh, let me share my experience to you... if u do a sudden rev while starting ur FI bike especially when the bike is cold, there will be a huge supply of current. over a period of time if u do this frequently, there's a POSSIBILITY that u MIGHT fry ur coil or rectifier...
