Hi guys,

glad to see so many fellow gsr-ians. :) Recently my gsr 400 has been giving some weird problems. :( the engine keeps dying. especially when i am decreasing speed towards a junction. One of my friend mentioned it might be due to the 4 pistons out of sync in rhythm. Do any of your guys face such problems before? engine dying when down-ing gear? If so, any good motor shops to recommend for the tunning of rhythm back in sync? I have checked with a few motor shops but they all have no idea how to carry that out. Spent quite alot of money doing other servicing but doesnt solve the problem. :((

Will greatly appreciate your help!! :)) cheers!

Do your basic checks first. Most of the time it is because your idling is not set to the recommended mark. Adjust the idling to be in between 1.1k and 1.3k rpm. And I have to repeat this again....Happy to do this....NO Does Not Consume A Lot Of Petrol.

The item that you are looking for is called Throttle Body Sync. Most of the major bike shops are able to do it. It is not necessary to do unless the needle is moving unsteadily with a big gap when the bike is idling (aka Abnormal).

Hi there, thanks for your speedy reply! :) oh I have tried tuning the idling already. however, it always decreases to below 1. sometimes it decrease to almost 0.5 although I may have just adjusted it the day before. That is why I feel there is something not right going on. However, i am not very sure what is it exactly.

Thank you for the correct terminology. :)

by the way, any good bike shops to recommend for suzuki gsr 400?

For Throttle Body Sync, you can go for RaceWerks. Most will frequent Unique, Motoworld, Planet, etc etc...Those big reputable shops.

Last question with regards to tuning of the idling screw (although may sound stupid....juz need to make sure), you did the adjustments when the bike is 'hot' (after warm up) rite? Like maybe 80 degrees celcius.

Other issues might be air leak in the system. These are still guessing only.
