Hi bros! New here. Last week got my gsr. So i actually just want to know. Where can i get the stock handlebar or rather a handlebar closer to the lenght of the stock. Coz the one i have now is too darn long. And when turning right, throttle cable is pulled and hard to pull throttle. Dangerous stuff. And where can i get the stock rear signal lights. I think water entering the lights when raining. And a pillion grab. Thanks in advance bro. So paisei. I like biggest noob around. Oh and. Does the gear normally give the loid sound when changing. Gears 2 to 6 also got sound. Normal ah?? Thanks many2 bros...

From what i know, GSR 400 manuals are in Japanese. I was told that we can use the manuals for GSR 600 instead (for parts everything should be the same), and things have been working fine for me all these while. Here are the links to both manuals:

Svc Manual: http://www.scribd.com/doc/7344894/GSR600-Service-Manual-Eng-Vanaf-2006

Thanks bro. Can I check if the 600 & 400 engine is identical. With difference just on reduced bore and/or stroke and maybe a differ crank pofile ? Maj in SG are 400cc right? How is the cost of spares compared against revo? Is heat from the underseat zorst causing significant discomfort? Fuel economy at 20 per litre for the 400? Engine smoothens and punchy from 5k rpm? OTR less insurance is 18k? Thanks.

I don't know, because these things don't matter to me, so i didn't bother to find out.

Maj in SG are 400cc right?

I don't know also, i don't have the statistics on such info. One thing u can note is that 600s were brought in officially by agent, 400s were all PI.

How is the cost of spares compared against revo?

IF u are talking about OEM, Honda stuff should be cheaper. A list of examples of original parts i have replaced in the past:

1. Clutch plates/clutch drivers (total 8) + gasket: $261 + $13

2. Gear shifter: $78

3. Throttle cables + Clutch cables: $87

4. Master brake pump kit: $60

5. Throttle position sensor (TPS): $75

Not cheap, i would say.

Is heat from the underseat zorst causing significant discomfort?

For stock pipe, cannot feel anything at all.

Fuel economy at 20 per litre for the 400?

Around there, can drop to 21-22 if ur hand not too itchy.

Engine smoothens and punchy from 5k rpm?

Can say so. But too high of cos still will have alot vibrations.

OTR less insurance is 18k? Thanks.

What bike?

Thanks for the extensive reply bro. I was referring to GSR400 for the OTR less insurance for brand new.

btw, did u change ur rear tyre to narrower tyre or change sprocket size to have enough torque to turn that large 180/55 tyre ?

I assume cannot install main stand right?

Sounds pricey compared to my Ver S 10 yrs back.....may not be a fair comparison since I'm not sure of Revo's spare parts pricing.

My guess is could be due to the engine power. The 06-08 version makes 53ps at 11k rpm as per the Jap's "gentlemen" agreement for 400 cc 4cyl. But the GSR4 09 onwards, it was 61ps @12k rpm. Maybe LTA was not comfy with that... they scared of reversion to the specs like pocket rockets of the 90s... haha They should be more concern with Cement mixers & tipper trucks...
