for me, i prefer not to cut any of the orginal wire looms on the bike. later u cut wrongly, got alot of problems.

 

one more thing, DO NOT twist together 2 wires n secure it with black insulation tape. the tape's adhesive wont hold long n when the tape drop off n unshielded wires touch the bike's frame it can be very ugly (if u didnt use an inline fuse)

i get wat u mean... just that different ppl got different ways of doing things. of cos when we fix anything, we try to fix it nicely cos its our bike... those shop mech wun care much about our bikes esp cosmetic..

yup i agree. i saw is13evil's horn wiring i shook my head in disbelief. cant believe a well known bike shop would do that kind of thing.

So far my qoutations based on down $1.5k.

 

Albert motor - $305/mth x 48 = $14640 @ 5% interest

(free slider, taking my wave for $1900)

 

Universal - $244/mth x 60 = $14640 @ 4% interest (trade in wave @ ??)

(freebies unknown, trade in unknown, 1st 2 servicing free))

 

Leong Seng - $312.9/mth x 48 = $14976 @ 5% interest

(price can go lower to challenge Albert)

 

 

1.)is there any better deals.

 

2.)what should i ask for? service? freebies?

 

4.)Is the stock tyre good. need to change? i'm prone to skidding!!

skid n fell on my previous bikes upteen times.

 

5)Anything to look out for when taking/checking the bike?

check with Loois before u make the decision. Sell your Wave yourself because Loois's trade in is low unless they are desperate .. which I think not becos GSR400's reputation getting better each day.

Engine oil Suzuki recomends 10W-40

 

Running in "Subjective"

-intial 800km speed below 7000rpm

-up to 1600km speed below 10500rpm

-over 1600 below 14000rpm

 

Based on GSR6, so if GSR 4 maybe u can keep it lower a bir

 

The engine speed should be varied and not held at a constant speed in order to ensure and aids the mating process...

Operating engine at constant low speed can cause parts to glaze and not seat in...but do not use full throttle for the 1st 1600km....

Any idea what the price is like now? Any 2nd hand in the market?I would be trading in my Vtec 2, FX plate.

Hows the bike? easy & cheap to maintain? or vice versa?? how about the spare parts?

 

 

Any idea if side boxes fit nicely on the bike? I'm looking into bringing the bike for touring as well....

For price i'm not tat sure, but will be around $15k i guess... 2nd hand?

I think someone in this Forum do selling his GSR6, try to search backward or mayb others can help to locate the pg no.....

 

How much u plan to sell u vtec 2? mayb i can help to ask my friends...

For me the maintainace almost the same as S4.... EO,Spark plug & Oil filter...

Fuel consume 1litre=at least 16km depend ur habit of riding...

Spare parts currently limited cause new bikes...

 

Side box? Damn nice!!! I saw few bikes fixed side box....

Touring? problems when wind blow... Will fixed when u have proper wind shield...

 

Overall... Very impressive!

price wise, have to check with the respective shops cos different shop gives different quoting.

 

GSR is a relatively new bike so can't really get a 2nd hand now but no harm sourcing for it. parts will not b a easily available as ur vtec 2. maintenance, shd b ard the price of ur vtec 2. the 400 n 600 is almost all the same.

 

GSR do look good with side boxes. but the width will b very wide liao...

U also pay full? No need to headache about monthly installment And I older then U , ins sure cheaper then yours , further more I transfer my NCB from my 2B bike to GSR to have much lower premium.

yup... dun wanna pay that extra interest to that damn shop. my NCD n loyalty discount counted in oso... not that ex as they counted. so the amt i buy shd b ard the same as u... mayb just a few dollars diff.

 

the diff now is i buy somewhere that i shd not even go when i heard that they r choppers for carrots like me...

 

anyway, no pt thinking about that now... the cash is out, no way they will pay me back.
