z^^kia, if u intend to send to shop to dismantle the frame for spraying, i dun advise to do so cos its a tedious process. alot of parts need to dismantle.

went to motoworld ytd and asked for the tankbra.. they need to order and cost 165 bucks... feel like buying.. anyway i want to buy like those carbon fibre stuffs which i saw in the official website.. there are headlight protector covers for sportbikes... wonder if there's any for road bikes like ours.. lol...

for us, no headlamp protector. u can try RACEshield. i got use it... its a transparent firm that protects the front parts of ur bike... next time u c my bike then u know wat its like.

 

carbon parts ah...quite ex leh.... u can c A-style's bike... he had almost all the ermax's parts installed on his bike... almost similar but not carbon.

 

i saw one full black tankbra at motoworld leh. is it sold?

wait long long liao... but even they just charge me for spraying, dismantle n installation for free, i dun think i wanna do that cos of the parts involved. too many sensors liao...

 

i think use news paper is the easiest liao... use it to cover the parts that do not want to b sprayed, then spray on the frame itself... then the holes, just spray into it to have the colours even.

the ans to your qns is very long lei... i'll try my best to explain...

 

yes all engines are pre run-in at factory, but without load. so what we are doiing is running-in our engine with the weight of the bike/rider and also all the running gears... bear in mind that all moving parts needs clearance to allow expansion from heat.

same goes to overhualed bikes/cars, as new components have been installed, you got to go through the whole process of running again.

like i mentioned before, during run-in period, your engine will be hotter as the moving parts are actually wearing themslves out...

 

Thx Kaozie. I've never understood these factory run-ins - always thought they are bullshitting consumers. That's why I'll always do my own running-in, afterall it is two new metal surfaces smoothening themselves out. Don't think they bothered to, in so short a time, run-in every engine on the conveyor belt.

TECH-TIP :-

RACEshield aids in motorcycle protection yet retain aesthetics with its its high gloss in nature. But this high gloss might not "go well" with a matte finish motorcycle. But on reality to the harsh roads, we do have examples of practicality VS aesthetics.

 

Big ups for this product and the workmanship. I definitely recommend this to anyone who treasures their bikes and wish to ride it with peace of mind knowing that there is a measure of protection. those with matt colors like mine might not go for for it, but i'd rather have it for its practicality.
