esplanade, road closure from 1pm to 2am i think. not sure about the actual time. orchard oso dunno got any countdown. heard from dino, vivocity may have a count down.

i might just go for a movie somewhere out of town.

VivoCity sure got countdown.

TV oledi advertising the CountDown party there.

But, we are not going Vivo. There's a hill, similar to Mount Faber, nearby at Pasir Panjang, overlooking Harbourfront, Sentosa and Vivo. Called Kent Ridge Park.

Can even see the cable cars.

Sure can see the fireworks go off.

Tats why I dun think we will get caught in jam.

If ECP-AYE from Kallang KFC up to NUH exit is free, sure can make it.

But see response first.

ok Thanks Bro.. so Heat does matter :cheeky:

Yes, during troubleshooting of electronic board, at times we need to heat up or freeze down certain ICs on board to isolate the fault. :cheeky:

temp wise was ok now. quite normal now cos oil change not long. change gear confirm louder than the ultra. will source for a thinner oil next oil change. if u use ultra 5W50 b4, u know the difference in both. n was told the extra 10W40 will thin off very fast n have to change about 4000km.

yes. b4 i change to extra, i'm using ultra. wanna know the difference between the 2 oil. now i know the difference already. ultra is more responsive.

i enquired about maxima oil mths ago. extra 15W50 was recommanded cos its popular n goes well with most of the bikes n helps to quiet down the engine. 5W50 more for agressive riding. so in the end i try both n now i prefer ultra 5W50.

this is personal opinion. dunno how will u feel if u change to ultra.

My dad's friend is someone in Nissan,

He's dealing wit new engine oil.

Tis is wat he told me.

Most engine oil are the same.

Thicker oil provides longer usuage.

Thinner oil provides power, but don last tat long.

So it's up to individual wat they wan .

It's all in the engine oil.

Anti-heat and Anti-slip substains.

Hi!

Just got my GSR400 a week ago, but i have totally no idea on this bike,

urgent need to pro answer from you guys~

1. on the manual, it says fuel cap is 16L, no matter how i pump, is like only 12L, is it got to do with reserves?

2. what speed to change for each gear to have lowest fuel comsumption??

3. what type of Engine oil that is better for this? and i am quite an aggro rider.

4. anyway to make the seat front tips stick to the bike? it keep coming out.

5. the speedometer can change to times/trip and else? how to do it? which saw it in manual but is in japanese, dun understand.

THANK YOU!! Greatly appreciate!!

it is my first bike after 2 years.. sorry for my troubles..

Posted

1. maybe you havent riden it till its on reserve. i've pumped in 16.2L before FYI.

2. after reading number 3, i dont think you'd be interested in fuel economy.

3. aggro rider? maxima ultra or fuchs silkolene

4. get better velcro strips like 3M

5. the speedo? no. the left display on top of the fuel gauge? yes. see that 2 small buttons on the left of your speedo assembly? press the lower one and you can either select trip 1, trip 2, odometer or clock.

cheers.

1. on the manual, it says fuel cap is 16L, no matter how i pump, is like only

12L, is it got to do with reserves?

you'll only get to pump 16.5l if your tank is totally dry, logically speaking.

there are 2 reserve levels.

blinking fuel pump, solid last bar: 3.5l remaining

blinking fuel pump, blinking last bar: 2l remaining

2. what speed to change for each gear to have lowest fuel comsumption??

after running in, keep revs below 6k rpm.

steady, controlled and easy acceleration will help.

the manual suggests best FC at 60km/h.

3. what type of Engine oil that is better for this? and i am quite an aggro rider.

aggressive but want fuel efficiency?

try reading up, skateboy suggests thicker oil for long intervals between oil

changes; thinner oil for better performance.

4. anyway to make the seat front tips stick to the bike? it keep coming out.

there're velcro like pads there. you might want to get additional similar type velcro

pads by 3M and stick on yourself.

5. the speedometer can change to times/trip and else? how to do it? which

saw it in manual but is in japanese, dun understand.

clock>>odometer>>tripmeter1>>tripmeter2>>clock

press the bottom button to switch between modes.

to adjust the clock, hold the top button until the display blinks then adjust by

fiddling with the buttons.

to reset the tripmeters, hold down the top button.

odometer cannot be adjusted.

THANK YOU!! Greatly appreciate!!

you're welcome.

mods done:

powerplant device, fuel injector venturis,

underseat cylindrical air filter, bassy stock cans,

super-sensitive in-built gyroscope, inertia-based accelerometer,

streamlined panniers (zero drag),

taped up wires, exposed grounding wires,

TBC mounted, custom tire pressures.

litre bikes watch out! :gun:

Thicker oil is the only recommended oil for certain big bikes. Like big V-twins (TL1000R, RSV Mille, etc).

Coz the way these engine is designed, it will go through thinner oil like hot knife through butter.

Also, some oils promote themselves as "full-synthetic" even though they are only 30% synthetic and 70% dino / mineral oil.

yes. that is wat it is all about. thick oil will take a longer mileage to break down. then oil break down more easily.
