S4 speedometer

Got into an accident abt 1 month ago. The whole speedometer gone and then went to Southern to change a 2nd hand one. Spend $280 for the meterboard and the white & black plastic casing. It only last me 1 week and the speedo + RPM and mileage meter not working anymore. I went back and KB but AH HUAT say too bad cos it was 2nd hand. Quote me $300 for a new set again. Fu**ing Ex la. Wat a irresponsible shop. Just 1 week and say too bad. hai... wont go back there to do anything again

 

Hai... now always go pass speedo Camera must depend on other road user to judge the speed. haha... Now my mileage keep restarting.

 

Anyone got any idea where to get cheaper meter board? Or anyone got any lobang?

Oh i riding Vtec1. At first i think is wiring too cos the petrol and time indicator still working. When i bring it to Southern to check straight after i notice that it was not working, they went thru wiring test for my whole bike (when i went home cos they ask me next day then can check finish) they say no problem cos they say they use a new set to test on the wire and the new set is workin. I went to Hua Chin (at bukit Batok) after that, the boss also say is meter board spoilt, althought he didnt realli check but just see see on the meter only.

 

I think i will one day make my trip down to Ah Ann Trading. Btw, you know what time is the operating hour for Ah Ann Trading?

His timing isn't very consistent.

 

Your chance to find the meter on a scrap yard is very low cos most vtecs are still below 10 years scrap age. (which is y I edited my first post)

 

 

If you've not choice but to get a new unit, go to different shops to get quote first. The few recommended shops here will charge higher but more reliable.

 

Oh.. then got to get new set? ANYONE out there got lobang to buy vtec1 meter board?

 

haha... anyway my point of sharing my experience here is for those who is going to do things at any shop on 2nd hands part pls be careful.

 

Now on the road the most depend on ppl's speed when approach speed cam lo. haha...

You should have gone to the Scrap yard to get the 2nd hand set. Its less than 200 and very easy to fix too. Go there and try look for it. They got many meters to choose from. Try calling to check. Will pm you the number if you need it. let me know.

My spec 2 meter circuit board spolit...

 

Had called planet but they dun have 2nd hand 1 and 1st hand cost $300...

 

Hope any super 4 bros here known of shops having 2nd hand meter circuit board...
