Better to flush out the old coolant and fill up with a new one... Because u never know what chemicals they use in it and they might cause a chemical reaction... That's what I feel la... Lol...

Not casket... It's gasket... That's the rubber seal which prevents the coolant or engine oil from leaking... Cost about Sgd $35... Not very sure... But for RM700, means it's not only your gasket... And anyway, check properly where it's leaking from... Maybe leaking from your radiator so need change a new one that's why it's rm 700... Anyway, radiator about Sgd $300... Maybe less... Have to know what exactly is wrong with your bike... Because if they repair your bike and the problem still persists, you'll become their long term customer...

I did a check on the exterior but no leaking was found. bike parked whole night den I check the floor also not leakage. but if steam coming out means gasket koyak right? the boss didnt even bend down and see den straightaway tell me its gasket koyak then need around RM700 for repair. Lol... If it's RM 700, then I suggest u do it in Singapore... About 200 only? Lol... And anyway, I don't think it's gasket... I feel it's the coolant seal which broke... Happened to my 2b tzm once before... Sgd 35 for the seal and about 15 workmanship? Lol.. RM 700... Chop lik carrot... I suggest u go a few bike shops in Singapore and get a quote from them and see if it's cheaper...

Temperature or fuel? Not radiator spoil... It won't ever be spoilt until there's a hoke in it or it's completely rusted... Check your connection, maybe it just dropped out or connected wrongly...

hi all, jus did my "flush" recently, but feel something is wrong somewhere. need advise on where d drain pt should be. fyi, i did my drain at "A"

FYI.

I remember my bike last drain out the coolant by at Boon Siew without disconnecting any hose. Mechanic only unscrew a screw near the pump (close to hose clip "C") then the coolant drain out automatically due to its almost lowest position.

I believe that its either your hose or radiator is damaged. Thats why its 700RM.

usually once a year. i'm not sure how to change the coolant but it's definitely troublesome and you need a hose nearby to flush the old coolant out. i suggest you just approach any bikeshop or do it when you get your engine oil replaced. they usually have a package for it. i just did mine at unique, engine oil plus coolant package.

Hi guys,

 

Lately, my spec 3 keep dripping coolant off from the side of my radiator hose from WestRider's picture illustrated at point B. It's an intermittent issue only happens when I stop at traffic light but when engine is off, the drip will not occur.

I brought my bike to some moto diam and told them I wanted to change the hose but I think the mechs reluctant to do it so they quote me $180 for replacement of 7 hoses and coolant but price may go up to $600+ if they find my ballast and some other stuff requires replacement. Please advice thanks.

I got problem with my coolant.. i did my servicing at wing yap and replace my coolant.. after that they fine out my air pum spoit.. did change and my Coolant light still came out.. Change the hose at first ok then after raiding a few km coolent light pop out again... Return shop now they tell me my thermostat spoil... When another shop inform then about my bike problem,They check everything without changing the thermostat.. Left the shop and nothing happen... Only when at night when I return from work I was speeding about 110km and coolent light pop out again.check my coolent container no more coolent... Any advise... I'm raiding a super 4 spec 3

Hmm..actually its best to stick to one shop..when troubleshooting...coz some mechs like to play "tikam tikam"...i can share with you all the possibilites of the problem your having but its best to get a shop to look thru unless ur really a diy person...jjust to name a few shops that i go to during my s4 days..unique motorsports,planet motors,bikeworks

maybe u can try ah chong at planet motor or look for ah pek in the non-vtec thread..

Wat is the recommended mileage to flush n change coolant?

Recently i top up my coolant, change fan and thermal switch, but my coolant is leaking near the water pump area. Wondering if u guys know the price of water pump and my bike also make boiling kettle sound when riding long distance. Do anyone know why? Engine doesnt feel hot plus fan is working.

U top up coolant or water? Fill to the brim or got some air inside? Kettle sound as in weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee or blup blup blup boil water sound? If its the weeeee sound, means there's a crack somewhere that the hot air gush out from the radiator. Hairline crack big enough for air to escape, but too small or too high for the coolant to leak out from the crack.

 

I suggest u do a complete check of the radiator. Check also the coolant seal, sometimes it will melt and the coolant will mix with the engine oil... Get a mechanic to check better... They're more experienced than us. I only can give suggestions based on what I've experienced...

When the temperature reaches half? Depends on what's the preset temperature for the fan to switch on. But u can do a manual bypass switch to switch on the fan...
