The difference coilovers and shock absorbers

Hey guys.. I need to know what is the difference between SHOCK ABSORBERS and COILOVERS? Which is better? Anyone knows?

 

Curently using SCHOCK ABSORBERS using TIEN spring. Is it good enough or I need to change it to COILOVERS? ......

coilovers are the car equivalent of your motorbike suspension system, they include both the shock absorber and the spring surrounding it. motorbiker just call it suspension cos bike dont sell the spring and shock seperately.

 

shock absorber is just the part within the springs.

 

coilovers will cost upwards of $1k, while if you just change springs, like what you have on your car now, will be in the hundreds.

 

coilovers can adjust height and all that, just springs like what you have now cannot.

 

aftermarket springs will cause your stock springs to wear out faster, coilovers wonts as they are designed to work together.

 

go to any car forum, look for lowering springs, and i am sure you will find all these info

depends what u really want out of them..

if you just want to lower ur car.. springs are good enough..

if you want to improve your handling of car.. go for coilovers..

Spring - $200~$400

Coilovers - $900-$2k.. all the way to $5-7k also have..
