talking about petrol last night when I pump my odo was 5500km... and just now when I park it was already 5700+... wahhh looks like I have to pump every alternate day already... :weep:

map was from lao uncle/mc

after converting and put into mapsource,

i tried a route from betong to hatyai and it was routable.

for the small kampong roads, havent try yet.

but i suppose it should be able to route if the road is shown on the map.

the gmapsupp.img is 80+mb

 

my advise if u wan try betong to hatyai, try to ride on their national highway (marked boldly on map one), safer. Small kampung route often zero traffic, no petrol kiosk, if anything happen no help. And rem that area, no cell phone coverage bcos they cut off all foreigner line for safety reason (prevent bombing).

 

I remember once inside Yala/Pattani along even highway, only has 2 petrol stations from Pattani to Betong lor...

Equipment needed: Yourself, an adventurous spirit, extreme love for durian, a keen sense of smell, sharp hearing, a strong torch and a gurney sack

there you go.

 

Use gmaptool and key in the command

gmaptool -S gmapsupp.img

Now you have img files and mapset00.mp

 

Use cgpsmapper and key in the command

cgpsmapper mapset00.mp

then you have mapset00.img

 

Use the mapsettoolkit to install the map

Install existing mapset

Enter the registry name

Enter TDB file

Enter Overview map - mapset00.img

Enter the map directory

 

DONE

 

Another way

use latest gmaptool with Windows GUI)

Add IMG file into gmaptool.

At Options page, browse and point to cgpsmapper.exe.

At Split page, browse and select the target directory to split the files at.

Set Create: files for Mapsource. Check Compile Preview Map.

Finally click Split selected.

If there's no error while splitting (read the logs),

go to the splitted folder, and run install.bat.

 

DONE.
