rs-taichi dry master.. definately a good buy.. pricing wise.. i think its within your budget.. hundred over odds dollars... can get it at motoworld. but if you wanna find something that can use as touring jacket.. then definately it wont keep you that dry.

i like OGK but during very heavy rain it does not help...the pants especially...

and its quite heavy(dry weight)

think the RS Taichi dry master is a good buy for rainy weather...

hope this helps!

cheers mate!

his father strike toto so he wants a GOOD one.

Drymaster is good, but as a jacket it wont protect you too well. its not padded, and the material is thin anyway. you ride the tarmac, wave bye bye to the rainjacket.

try buying a denim jacket. cheaper than full fledged touring jackets, not as hot, and protects you relatively well from road rash.

quite a number of people selling levis jackets and the sort at the marketplace right now. have a look.

wont protect you from rain though. but you can probably buy both a jacket and a good raincoat together.

Will the dry master last? Esp the pants. Cos I am going thru like 3 pairs a year. Very troublesome. Please advise, thanks.

Regarding the denim jacket, I dun tink it will help much.

For the same price(Levi's) , you can get a real mesh riding jacket with proper armour guards.

My advise is rather to spend ard $150 ont he mesh jacket and a set of normal raincoat. Fits the budget nice.

Dun buy those water proof riding jackets, hot as hell and in a downpour, the inner water proof linings dun hold up. The jacket sill soaked somemore.

My 2 cents.

dry master although it keeps u dry and last long etc ... i'll still prefer my old rain buster due to the fact that its more compact and light weight ... easier to store and don ... dry master comes with a hood for reasons unknown to me

about 4mths

the reason i bought it, was the cranky weather during July period

where rain and sun was unpredictable

initally wanted to get Arai, but apparently, tt time dun have stock for my size, so, jit tao dulan, go motorworld , grab the RS Taichi and went home

nvr failed me

personally, i used to be AhBoy raincoat supporter, cos, in times of bloody big rain, i stop and dun ride.......... but, it was during one exam time, when the moring rain was like a waterdfall, LPPL gotta go sch, then ride

end up, reaching sch all drenched inside out..........

just my personal opinion, but , still, have to see how long the Drymaster can last

until then.........

adios

RJays Octane Series. $160- $180 Regina, depending on how you bargain

1. 3M reflective stripes behind

2. KNOX protective armour for elbow and shoulder impact resistance

3. Full Back Padding

4. Mesh type, that converts strong wind to cool air into your body.

5. Rain Coat add-on - with thin raincoat material that you can attach to your main Mesh external jacket.

Colours - Red, Black. Didn't see Blue and silver/grey yet i think.

Didn't fall with this jacket yet. But i got my strongest friend to whack me real hard on my shoulder, feels nothing though lol.

TS, it really depends on what you are looking for.

1) Pure raincoat that can wear as normal jacket?

2) Protective jacket that is water-proof?

There is a whole lot of difference in cost between the 2.

If you are looking for a pure raincoat, the RS Taichi ones as recommended by the others is a good choice. Similarly, Timberland is having a sale now and i've seen several thin and waterproof jackets on sale at $150.

If you are looking for a protective jacket which is waterproof then you have tons of choices: Mesh with waterproof lining, Mesh with raincoat, cordura jackets and other material jackets.

You'll also have to consider whether you will use it everyday while riding and where you can store the jacket.
