Ok! thanks for info. How much? Few hundreds?

nope i think its much more than that as they have to change the whole braking system, ABS front calipers are 6 pods instead of the non ABS 4 pods

Call Boon Siew, ask for price of ABS and non-Abs Revo. Take price difference and add a few hundreds coz it's an aftermarket mod :deal:

No need to spend that kind of money lah. Better to learn to squeeze the levers properly and avoid panic braking at all cost. If you want stronger and better feel, go for steel braided hoses and better pads. But then, before spending on all of these, when were the brakes system last serviced? Mine is non-ABS (braided hoses + stock pads) and I find the brakes to be good enough.

Front and rear can be improved with extra volume of oil and/or heavier/thicker oil. Preload levels can also be increased with bearings in the forks and a shim on the rear shocks.

hi all

can anyone teach me some things about grounding?

read from the forum that grounding will give better FC and mileage etc. but also read that the bike is already "grounded" dont need extra grounding

can anyone advise on this and where can i do grounding in sg? planet dont have the service.

thanks!

Hi All,

Recently my bike seems to be taking longer during warm up?

What can be wrong?

Please advise.

Thanks.

Don't really understand what you mean. The Revo doen't really need to be warmed up. For me, for 1st start of the day, I start the bike when I'm more or less ready to go. Estimated time from start to moving off is typically about 1.5 minutes. When I'm away from home, the time from starting bike to moving off is typically less than a minute.

What are the symptoms you notice with your bike?

Hmm... short answer, can? :)

The purpose of grounding is to capture "stray" electricity generated by the alternator and from flux caused by moving parts and other electrical components; and to re-direct these back to the battery.

Theoretically, grounding should then make the entire engine & alternator system more efficient. So, this should then result in savings in petrol consumption. Some people say their bikes run smoother.

My experience: Fuel savings isn't noticeable. Slight improvement in engine "smoothness".

You can get @Ah Pek to do it for you in AMK. Send him a PM with your hp number and he will be in touch with you.

Normally I gauge from the timing for my RPM to stable down to 1.5.

But recently seems to take longer to reach 1.5.

By the way, can I check with you, how do we know if the spark plugs are due for replacement?

Ahh... ok. Sorry, wasn't using my brain earlier... :p

On cold start, RPM is higher and will settle to about 1.4k-1.5k after "warming up". I haven't really timed this process to be able to feedback to you. How long does yours take?

Will try to remember timing my bike tomorrow and suggest you do the same for comparison.

By the way, can I check with you, how do we know if the spark plugs are due for replacement?

If any of the plugs are dead, you will feel the bike being sluggish. Like losing power. The engine sound will also sound abnormal.

Good plugs last for a long time - 25-30k KM. Don't really need to do anything provided there is nothing wrong with your piston rings (resulting in oil seeking up to cylinder head/plug head area) and fueling (over-rich fuel = carbon build up. Too lean = plugs overheat).

Best way to check is to remove the tank**. First check if ignition cables are firmly connected and in good condition visually (no cracks etc.). Then remove plugs and inspect. This website would probably have enough info. Do also google "check spark plugs" or similar keywords on the web and I'm sure you'll find pictures of bad plugs for guidance.

When you remove plugs, remember which plug is for which piston. Best to place them left to right as you remove them from the engine. Inspection and clean the plugs. Follow Dan's instructions for checking plug condition. Install the same plugs back in original position if ok or install new ones.

** Just did this to tidy up my cables.

It's a "pain" to remove the tank! Very tight space to squeeze in fingers to disconnect fuel line and pump cables. Roll newspaper and use as wedge to support tank as you do this.

Have the front fork oil input at 450-500 cc. If u wanna import rebound rate for front..put in a front axle bearing (6363 part No. I think) into the fork upper stanchion before recapping the fork cap (can be done at Ah Fook). As for the back.can have ur canister gas increase and add a 1" hard aluminium spacer (can be done at Teck Thye).
