You can always go to boon siew and tell them warranty covered. Don't ask them. Tell them that. And ask them to change for ya. The only piece of mind when you change parts from Boon Siew is the parts are original honda parts. Be it manufactured from Thailand or Japan. Whatever you mentioned just not happened to a buddy of mine also. No more warranty. Changed his magnetic coil, rectifier and battery. $9XX(Not at Boon Siew).:faint:

Mind sharing what is your current mileage? Mine needs to be replaced soon. Hiaz....

Am currently at 30k km, i was quoted $340 for replacement of coil by Ah Chong, maybe it's cheaper cause I am quite close to him.

YUP! sure voided. Fyi I hv been servicing at Boon Siew for abt 1 yr plus just to full filled the chops on their warranty card. Within this 1 yr plus so far no major problem, except I got a chances to change the "SW ASSY, REAR STOP" is actually a rear stop switch which may cause problem when they announce on their website.

After bike abt 2 yrs old then same same story like yours. Except I nvr change the battery as it hv been replaced just one mth before. Instead I ask my friend to push bike to try "Push Start" the bike. After few times, I give up.

I have few photo of my BURNT Magnetic Coil. But till now i still don't know how to post photos. To @ramsnake do u want me to email u the picture to ur email? So u can again help me to post in this Revo thread, just like last time i send u my "throttle body" picture.

I remember reading @ramsnake posts. His Magnetic Coil create problem when at Malaysia. Lucky mine in Singapore. From Mustafa Centre otw home, along PIE. The Volt metre number keep on decreasing, even after i full throttle. And finally came to a STOP just in front of my home.

Last but not least, i talk with the Honda agent Mechanic on how to prevent the Magnetic Coil from burning. He says, this is electrical and electronic stuff. It get burnt after some times (wear & tear). Thus it is unavoidable. This is my words, As if rotating the tyres and burn it. Hehe...

Your price seems to be reasonable compare to what my friend replaced at a bike shop. So you just changed magnetic coil and stater coil assembly(rectifier?)?

Is it a must to change rectifier when magnetic coil burns? I wonder why every time bike shops say must change these 3 items as in coil, rectifier and battery at the same time?

People with more knowledge in these please helps me as well as other out. Many thanks to you...:)

Got my bike back. Verified with Boon Siew, yes we must have had done our servicing with them or at any authorized workshops. By doing so we will attain their Honda chops which in turn allows us to exhaust our warranty. If you have not done so, like myself for example, our warranty is useless. Friday, 4pm, gave Ah Chong the green light to order the coil, called in Saturday, 3pm, bike ready. Spent $375 in total, $350 for original honda magnetic coil from Japan, $25 for tow service. Rectifier was fine, pheww! Anyways this is the pic of my burnt out magnetic coil, after further inspection, i found a made in China engraving, niceeee! No wonder all of us are having magnetic coil issues, didnt believe Ah Chong when he told me till I saw it myself. Should we write in to them guys?

You can Google for Bikebulance, they provide towing services up north, but I heard it costs a bomb, you might wanna enquire with them first. Anyways ok lah, managed to visit Kl, Malacca, Genting, Cameron Highlands & Kluang before mine burn't out, and I am only at 30000km, i guess it depends on how we ride and all.

Its a waste u had to change the whole.coil.. looks.like only one part is burnt.. u wanna write in to them for?? Cos the item is.made.in china??

Anw, a friend once taught me hw to care for the coil. If the bike has stopped for.more than 8hours, straiggten ur bike and start.. his theory is to let the coil be immersed in the coil before starting.. sumtg like tt
